We would like to thank the many outstanding people of Alabama and across the nation that have supported our rescue efforts during this difficult time after the April 27 storms. If it wasn't for your generosity we would not have been able to save as many animals as we have. We rely on the generosity of our partners, donors, granting agencies, and adoption revenue to cover operational costs for our

programs. While we have made significant progress since our inception just a few months ago, there is still so much to be accomplished and we continue to need your help. Since the storms, the ALSPCA has rescued and altered hundreds of companion animals. Many now have permanent and loving homes, but still, many remain that need both adoptive and foster homes. If you are interested in adopting an animal please take a look at our Petfinder list. More importantly, adopt a rescue. There are dozens of wonderful rescue organizations in our State. Each of them committed to the welfare of abandoned, abused, and neglected animals. If you would like to have an impact in the life of an animal in need and bring joy to an adoptive family, but your circumstances will not allow you to adopt, please consider fostering. Fostering helps more than just the animal in immediate need. You can have a life-long impact on the families who adopt. You will have given them a lasting gift---one of joy, uncompromising love, and memories. If you can not foster, there are other ways to help. We need volunteers for events, donations drives, supplies, transporters---so many, many ways you can make a difference in the lives of animals and of people. Animal rescue is not just about rescuing animals, but it is also about people---enriching, educating, and empowering---make a difference today!

🐾 Where Your Donations Really Go 🐾

Many people ask how the Alabama SPCA uses the donations we receive. The answer is simple: we put them directly to work for the animals.

Across West and Central Alabama, there are countless rescue groups working tirelessly on the front lines - saving animals, providing medical care, and finding loving homes. These rescues are the ones in the trenches every single day, and their needs are constant.

At Alabama SPCA, we serve as ambassadors for these rescues. We stay connected, watch for urgent needs, and help provide support where it’s needed most. In many ways, we do the behind-the-scenes work - so you don’t have to search for where help is needed most.

And here’s something important: we don’t take a fee. Not a penny.
Every dollar donated is used to help the animals and the rescue groups caring for them.

Your support allows us to continue lifting up the rescues doing the hard work on the ground and making sure help reaches the animals who need it most.

Thank you for trusting us to be a voice - and a helping hand - for animals across Alabama.

Meet Skip! (Courtesy Post...contact person is listed below)

Skip is a 2-year-old Black Mouth Cur mix with a heart as big as his story. Before he was rescued, Skip was hit by a car and lost his front right leg, but don’t let that fool you. He gets around beautifully and loves to run and play. He is great with people of all ages and other dogs. His favorite things include snuggling, trips to the dog park, and spending time outside. He is fully house-trained, neutered, and up to date on all his vaccinations.

The only thing Skip asks is a cat-free home. Other than that, he is an incredibly loving, loyal dog who will thrive with a family that gives him the affection and playtime he deserves. Skip is ready to bring joy, cuddles, and unconditional love into his new forever home!
