What an incredible day at the Tallapoosa County Water Festival for fourth graders at Wind Creek State Park near Alexander City, AL! 💧🌎

AWEA was fortunate to share the educational platform with Shay Grant of PALS and Dylan Ogle of Wind Creek State Park-Alabama. Together, we helped students explore the importance of protecting and preserving our natural resources through fun, hands-on learning experiences like our edible aquifer activity!

Students rotated from station to station learning about aquifers, the water cycle, filtration systems, fish & wildlife, and so much more. Along the way, they discovered how everyday actions impact the environment and how each of us can help protect our precious water resources for future generations.

From picking up litter and leading by example to pursuing careers that make a difference, every student has the power to create positive change and help make the world a better place. 🌱

If you’re looking for a rewarding and meaningful career path, the water industry is a wonderful place to learn, grow, and thrive! 💙

A special thank you to all of the organizations, partners, and volunteers who helped make this event possible and continue supporting environmental education and conservation outreach in our communities!

AWEA was so pleased to teach the Edible Aquifer station at the Lee County Water Festival for 4th graders on May 5th with Leah, an outstanding Honor Society Student at Beauregard High School! The next station, which focused on the Water Cycle using handmade bracelets, was completely managed by Layla, another extremely capable Honor Society Student at Beauregard. It was a pleasure to work with these young emerging leaders! 💧🌎

Students explored how wells and groundwater behave in confined aquifers along with a variety of other engaging demonstration stations throughout the festival. It was inspiring to see so many young minds excited about science, environmental stewardship, and protecting our precious water resources.

The day was also a wonderful opportunity to connect with so many like-minded organizations dedicated to education, public health, and environmental preservation. Special thanks go to the many amazing partners and volunteers including Niagara Bottling, Auburn University's Risk Management and Safety, Lee County Soil and Water Conservation District, the City of Opelika, Auburn Water Resources Management, Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), the City of Auburn, and many more.

By teaching students about water, conservation, and environmental responsibility at an early age, we are helping build a brighter and more sustainable future for generations to come. Everyone can make a positive impact, especially those in the water industry. 🌱💙

STEAM Day at Montview Elementary School in Huntsville, AL was nothing short of amazing! 🌧️➡️☀️ The weather tried to hold us back, but the storms and rain seemed to stop just for us!

It was great to see Charles Austin, Brianna, and their incredible team at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center. They did an outstanding job collaborating with school staff, the Cook Museum, the UAH Center for Cybersecurity Research and Education, AWEA, and many more to create a truly fabulous educational experience.

Students had a blast exploring hands-on activities at every station, diving into the exciting worlds of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. From interactive experiments to learning about future careers, the energy and curiosity were inspiring!

A huge thank you to the U.S. Space and Rocket Center and Montview Elementary for hosting and bringing this unforgettable day to life! 🚀
