💔 THEY RAN AFTER THEIR DAD AS HE WALKED OUT THE DOOR. THEY DIDN’T KNOW HE WASN’T COMING BACK. 💔

PLEASE don’t scroll past Birdie and Dizzie. They need us more than ever.

Almost 8 years ago, these two tiny kittens were found curled up together beside a dumpster. Northport Cat Rescue rescued them, and they were adopted together into what we believed would be their forever home.

❤️ For nearly 8 years, they had everything. A family. A warm home. Someone to love.

And then, through absolutely NO fault of their own, they lost it all. 💔
When their dad brought them to their foster home and turned to leave, something happened that broke our hearts.
Birdie and Dizzie RAN AFTER HIM.

They didn’t understand why he was leaving. Why weren’t they going with him? Where was the only family they had ever known?
If only we could explain that they had done nothing wrong. 😢

For days, they grieved. But thanks to their loving foster mom, these beautiful souls are slowly beginning to cuddle, trust, and play again.

🐾 They’re incredibly sweet, affectionate black cats who grew up with children and are doing wonderfully with other cats.

They’ve already lost their home. PLEASE don’t let them lose each other.
They’re bonded siblings who have spent their ENTIRE lives together. Our greatest wish is to find them a home directly from foster care, sparing them another heartbreaking transition into an adoption habitat.

💔 They’re almost 8 years old. Not kittens anymore. But aren’t they just as deserving of being chosen?

Eight years ago, someone gave two frightened kittens beside a dumpster a chance.

Today, we’re begging someone to give them that chance again.

Two of our amazing foster families are once again hosting their annual garage sale, filled with beautiful treasures, clothing, home décor, furniture, and SO much more!

Who will raise the most this year? Team Dog or Team Cat? Proceeds from select items will benefit Northport Cat Rescue and Camp Happy Tails Dog Rescue!

💔 SHE KEEPS PAWING AT THE DOOR… HOPING SOMEONE WILL FINALLY NOTICE HER AND HER SISTER. 🥺

Please watch this little video. And then look at the pictures of these two beautiful girls when they were just tiny babies, curled up together.

Meet Penny and Cinnamon. The last two sisters from their litter still waiting for someone to choose them. 💔

Born on March 6th, these sweet girls came into our rescue the very day they entered this world.
They have never known life without each other.
They grew up surrounded by love, children, other cats, kittens, and even dogs and are wonderful with all. They learned to play, explore, cuddle, and trust people.

But from the very beginning, there was something we noticed about these two.
No matter how many other animals were around, Penny and Cinnamon always found their way back to each other. ❤️
They played together. Slept curled up together. Looked for each other.
They weren't just sisters. They were inseparable.
And now, as the last two of their litter still waiting for a family, they continue to find comfort in the one thing they've always had.
Each other. 💔

Penny is our little charmer. She's the one who comes right up to the habitat door at Petco in Commack, reaching out with her tiny paw, trying so hard to get someone's attention.
And every time we see her do it, our hearts break just a little more.

Because we can't help but imagine what she would say if she could speak.

“Excuse me… could you please stop for a minute? My sister and I are still here. We've been waiting so long. Could you maybe take us home?” 🥺

And sweet Cinnamon? She's right there with her sister, just as she has been since the day they were born.

They are affectionate, silly, playful, curious, and cuddly. They love people, and they have so much love to give.
They have everything a family could wish for. Except a family.

We know adopting two kittens isn't something everyone can do.
But somewhere out there is someone who has room in their home and heart for two little girls who have already spent their entire lives loving each other.
Someone who will see them not as two kittens to adopt, but as one beautiful little family that deserves to stay together.
Please don't let their story end with another day of waiting behind a habitat door.

Penny has been trying so hard to get someone's attention. Today, we're asking you to help her. ❤️

❤️ PIP IS READY TO BE SOMEONE’S ONE AND ONLY. AND TRUST US… SHE’S ALL YOU’LL EVER NEED. ❤️
If you remember Pip’s story, you know this beautiful girl has already had her heart broken more than once.
Pip originally showed up at a construction company’s warehouse. The kind gentlemen there built her a little house, fed her and cared for her while trying to find her family.

Then came the unbelievable news: Pip had a microchip. Her family was found! They told us they had been searching for her for months and would be coming to pick her up.
We were thrilled.
Pip waited.
And waited.
We called several times.
They never came. 💔
So maybe they weren’t really Pip’s family after all. Because we believe her real family is still out there, she just hasn’t met them yet!
Pip is about 1½ years old, and she is one spectacular little girl. She’s affectionate, snuggly, a total lap cat and even plays fetch like a dog. 😂 She’ll sleep in bed with you, soak up your attention and keep you laughing with her personality.
And Pip has just the right amount of spice to go with all that sweetness. ❤️

We’ve also learned something important about her: Pip should be your only pet.

But before you think of that as a negative, hear us out.

Pip doesn’t need a furry brother or sister. She wants YOU. She wants your lap, your bed, your attention and your love. And with a personality this big and a heart this sweet, Pip is truly all the pet you will ever need. ❤️

Pip was recently in our adoption habitats but had to be removed when she developed an eye infection. She received the care she needed, she’s all better now, and she is back and ready to find her forever home.

Right now, Pip is at Pet Supplies Plus in East Northport, where she is doing what Pip does best — winning the hearts of everyone who meets her.
Now we just need ONE of those people to say:
“You’re coming home with me.” 🥹❤️

Please go meet her. Sit with her. Give her a few minutes to show you who she is.
Because somewhere out there is a person who doesn't need a house full of pets.
They just need Pip.

❤️ BLESSINGS, ADOPTIONS & A BEAUTIFUL COMMUNITY TRADITION!
 
This Sunday, October 4th from 1–5 PM, Northport Cat Rescue Association will be joining a very special Blessing of the Animals & Adoption Event at the United Lutheran Church – St. Peter’s Campus in Huntington Station!
 
And this event has such a sweet story behind it. ❤️
A few years ago, a wonderful gentleman named Chris reached out to Northport Cat Rescue and asked us to attend their very first Blessing of the Animals event. He was helping his daughter promote it, and we were so happy to be a part of their first year.
Since then, we’ve watched this father-and-daughter team turn their idea into a beautiful little tradition that continues to grow. Each year, more vendors, more rescues, more families and — most importantly — more animals come to be part of the day.
And when we say animals, we mean ALL animals!
 
Last year, even a 50-year-old tortoise came to receive a blessing!
 
This year, NCRA will be there with some of our adorable adoptable kittens, and of course, they’ll be receiving their blessings too. We’re hoping maybe those blessings will include finding a few FOREVER HOMES! 🏡❤️
 
We also hear that Ollie’s Angels Animal Rescue will be there with dogs looking for families of their own!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           
 
So whether you’re looking to adopt a kitten, meet some wonderful rescue dogs, support local rescues and vendors, or simply bring your own beloved fur baby to receive a special blessing —COME SPEND THE AFTERNOON WITH US!
 
🐾 Every pet who comes can receive a blessing if their family would like one.
And really… who couldn’t use a few extra blessings? ❤️🙏

❤️ PLEASE DON’T LET THESE TWO SWEET GIRLS KEEP GETTING OVERLOOKED. ❤️
In a sea of kittens at Petco Commack, two beautiful sisters sit quietly together.
Waiting.
Rachel and Gracie aren’t tiny kittens doing silly things to get your attention. They’re around 3 years young, and calm. They’re gentle. They’re couch potatoes.
And they are completely devoted to each other.
These sisters spent much of their lives outdoors, cared for by a kind woman who suddenly had to leave the country and was unable to return home.

A caring neighbor was looking out for the girls, when Rachel developed terrible pain in her mouth and stopped eating, NCRA stepped in to get her the veterinary care she desperately needed.
We discovered that behind Rachel’s shyness was the sweetest girl.
And we couldn’t stop thinking about the sister she had left behind.
So we went back for Gracie.
❤️ We will never forget their reunion. ❤️
The moment they saw each other, they started head-butting one another and purring. Over and over. They couldn’t get close enough.
They had missed each other.
Gracie ended up needing dental work too, and once both girls were healthy, they went together to an amazing foster home.
That’s where they learned how wonderful life indoors could be.
A warm home.
A soft couch.
People who love them.
And the comfort of knowing they are finally safe.
Now Rachel and Gracie are at Petco Commack, ready for a forever home.
But people keep walking past them for the kittens. Please stop and see them.
These girls don’t ask for much. They just want to lie beside their people, relax, be loved and stay together.
Rachel and Gracie must be adopted together — but trust us, you will never regret keeping these two sweet, laid-back girls side by side.
They’ve already spent enough of their lives wondering what tomorrow would bring.
Let’s give them a tomorrow that looks exactly like today:
Safe. Warm. Loved. Together. ❤️

💔 TWO YEARS IN RESCUE. 730+ DAYS. AND THEY ARE STILL WAITING.

This is Cranberry and Chestnut.
Brother and sister. Best friends. Each other’s safe place.
And this month, they passed a milestone we never wanted to celebrate:
Two years in rescue.

Their story began when they were just babies, rescued from a yard where Chestnut was found with soccer netting wrapped around his neck.
They went into foster care together, but Cranberry was scared. Really scared. She was a tough little nut to crack, and it took time and patience for her to learn that people could be trusted.
But she had Chestnut.
And with her brother beside her, Cranberry slowly became brave enough that we thought she was ready for one of our adoption habitats.

We were wrong.

Cranberry regressed terribly.
Chestnut, meanwhile, was his usual sweet, loving, outgoing self. We knew he had a wonderful chance of being adopted, and we didn't want to hold him back because his sister was struggling.
So we made the heartbreaking decision to put Cranberry back into foster care without him.

And Cranberry fell apart.
She became withdrawn. She was depressed.
And suddenly the answer was right in front of us.
Cranberry didn't just love her brother.
She needed him.
So we reunited them.
And that was it. ❤️

Chestnut went back to his sister, and the two have been together in a wonderful foster home ever since.
Now, more than TWO YEARS after they entered rescue, they are still there.
Still waiting.

Cranberry has come so incredibly far. Once she feels safe, this formerly terrified little girl will roll onto her back for belly rubs, soak up the sunshine by the window and happily accept her beloved squeeze treats.

And Chestnut? He's still the loving boy he's always been — playful, affectionate, full of zoomies and always ready to join you on the couch for some attention.

They play. They explore. They climb their cat tree. They chase the laser. They love their treats.
And most importantly, they have each other.

They do well with other cats and dogs, too!

We know adopting two cats is a bigger ask.
We know Cranberry may need a little patience while she learns that her new home is safe.
But after everything these two have been through, there has to be someone out there willing to give them what they've been waiting more than two years for.

A home of their own. Together.

So this is where we need you…
Maybe you can't adopt them.

But you can help us find the person who will.
