We’ll be out at Fox Run Pocket Prairie tomorrow from 5:30 to 7:00 PM pulling weeds and helping the pocket prairie along.

We’ll be there in our Restoration Master Volunteer role with staff from Butterfly Pavilion, doing the glamorous work of figuring out what gets to stay and what needs to get yanked.

Come hang out, pull some weeds, ask questions, and help us keep this little patch of Northglenn habitat moving in the right direction.

Tools will be provided, but feel free to bring gloves, water, and whatever level of weed-pulling enthusiasm you can manage on a weekday evening. Short notice we know.

Another Foster-a-Sprout forever habitat home!

The awesome staff at Westview elementary in Northglenn, planted their fosters in their forever habitat home, where they’ll keep growing into pollinator habitat right by the building.

That means these little plants officially graduated from “please don’t forget to water me” to “look at me, I’m habitat now.”

Huge thanks to the Westview team for caring for them and giving students a living space for wonder, learning, and pollinator watching for years to come.

Another Foster-a-Sprout forever habitat home 🌱

Thanks to the ABLE foster community and their amazing work, these 15 native plants found a permanent home with a pair of awesome Thornton residents who adopted this neighborhood bed near Skylake Ranch Park.

They gave these fosters a place to keep growing, supporting pollinators, birds, and the community as the bed fills in over time.

Exciting Foster a Sprout update!

This year’s Foster a Sprout plants have been delivered to their public forever habitat homes.

Plants fostered by ABLE and Care Group Northglenn are now helping support habitat at Sky Lake Park in Thornton, Westview Elementary in Northglenn, Superior open space, Fox Run Pocket Prairie in Northglenn, and DUG’s Sanderson Gulch Food Forest in Denver.

Several sites also adopted plants onsite, including Crossroads, KADEP at Rocky Mountain MS Center, Elk Run Assisted Living, New Mercer Commons Assisted Living, and Marycrest Assisted Living.

Did you receive a Foster a Sprout plant with the Meet Your Sprout label at the giveaway? Drop a photo in the comments. We would love to see it in its forever habitat home.

We will share photos back with the communities that helped foster the plants so they can see where their care helped create habitat.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the first year of Foster a Sprout possible!

Native Plant Giveaway 2026

Thank you to everyone who came out, donated plants, volunteered, shared the event, and helped make this year possible.

We gave out more than 1,600 native plants to nearly 400 neighbors.

Sorry to anyone who came later after plants were gone. People were lined up before we opened and the plants went fast.

Keep an eye out for next year, and thank you again for helping bring more native plants into our community.

Huge thank you to everyone who came out to the Native Plant Giveaway!

We gave away over 1,600 native plants, and nearly 400 people showed up to bring some native habitat home. We are blown away by the turnout.

Sorry to anyone who came later and found that we had already run out. People were lining up by 9:30, and the plants went fast.

Thank you to everyone who donated plants, helped volunteer, shared the event, and showed up to support native plants and pollinators in our community.

Keep an eye out for next year. We are already excited to do it again!
