Many Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) adults have experienced or witnessed some degree of upheaval because of the Trump administration's intensified immigration enforcement policies, and most say the United States is no longer a land of opportunity for immigrants, a new AP-NORC/AAPI Data poll finds. Many have started carrying proof of U.S. citizenship or immigration status on their person, upended travel plans, or significantly changed their routines because of the current situation, said the poll released on Monday. AAPI adults are one of the country's fastest growing populations and most adults were born outside the country. Almost 60 percent said they believed the United States was once a great country for immigrants, but not anymore.

The Trump administration's immigration crackdown has been met with protests against the measures and immigration agents have repeatedly used airborne irritants such as tear gas and pepper spray to try to break up protesting crowds. These chemicals can cause eye pain, shortness of breath, nausea, and vomiting. Use of these irritants has particularly harmful effects on children. Dozens of children — many far from the protest sites — have been harmed by tear gas and pepper spray. Here are some things to know about the chemicals used and the harm they pose for children.

Pope Leo XIV issued a forceful condemnation of human trafficking and called on traffickers to repent. Those who exploit and profit from the desperation of others will have to answer to God, he said on June 12 during a talk to people engaged in migrant integration efforts. He spoke on the island of Tenerife on the last day of his visit to Spain. He issued a clarion call to traffickers and those in organized crime exploiting migrants to "break those chains and free those you hold in bo***ge" and to "return what has been taken as much as you can."

“Repent,” was Leo XIV’s message to human traffickers on Friday in the Canary Islands, “while there is still time.”

‘The Erasure Of Anything Palestinian’: Israel’s Ethnic Cleansing Of Palestinian Bedouin And Herding Communities exposes how Israeli authorities have accelerated a state-sponsored program of ethnic cleansing in the occupied West Bank, uprooting, dispossessing, and forcibly transferring Palestinian communities.

Over 26 months, Amnesty crisis investigators conducted extensive research to bring these atrocities to light, collecting evidence through field research, interviews, and policy analysis.

Amnesty documents the ethnic cleansing campaign targeting these communities in a context of apartheid, unlawful occupation and the ongoing genocide in Gaza.

Entire Palestinian communities across Area C of the occupied West Bank are being erased from lands they have lived on for generations by Israel's accelerating policy of ethnic cleansing and annexation.

Sign the petition and call on world leaders to halt Israel's ethnic cleansing of Palestinians in the occupied West Bank now and end its unlawful occupation: https://amn.st/6189B8Fk6c
