Scouting is more than just fun—it's a journey full of outdoor adventures, new friendships, and unforgettable experiences. Along the way, kids build confidence, grow as leaders, try career building opportunities, and develop skills they’ll carry for life.

Are you in 4th, 5th or 6th grades and interested in joining Scouts?

Come meet Troop 575 during one of our campouts. The Oskiwawa Campout has been an October tradition and a troop favorite for many years.

Saturday October 11, 2025
Time: anytime after 10:00am
Brecksville Reservation at the Meadows Picnic Area.

This is a chance for your child to get firsthand experience on what our troop does on a campout. Planned activities include a hike, a pioneering project and other fun activities that are a staple at our campouts. Evening activities include a campfire and Scout skits.

Stay the whole day, part of the day, or come for our evening program.

An adult must accompany the youth for the duration of the event.

Food will be provided.

Adult leaders will be on hand to address any questions about Scouting parents may have.

Learn how your child can join Scouts and be part of a year full of adventure, friendship, and discovery.

Fall Court of Honor coming up this week. Some of the 60+ merit badges our Scouts will be awarded.

Our summer break is almost over. This spring/summer saw the troop do some fun traveling for campouts.
The first was in April when our troop went to the West Point Camporee.
After several years of applying, we were finally selected to attend.
All was going well until it snowed 4”-6” overnight on Friday. By noon Saturday all the troops were instructed to return to their campsites and pack up and leave.
Not quite the experience they were hoping for but the few activities they did participate in the boys had a great time.
Hopefully we will get a chance to go back again in the future.

Mother’s Day Court of Honor 2025.
On Saturday we honored our scouts and their mothers during our spring court of honor.
Scouts earned over 50 merit badges, which was the most we have handed out at the spring court of honor in a long time. 12 scouts ranked up since our Fall Court of Honor. American our two recent cross overs received their final Cub Scout awards amd Arrow of Light patch.
One of our adult leaders working on his Wood Badge, awarded all the scouts with a service star for years at the Troop level.
And as a special surprise a few of the adult leaders were given some special awards for going above and beyond for the troop. The monster truck award was given to two adult who help haul the trailer. The fryer award, to the adult leader than manned the fryers during our recent fish fries. And a few others.

FISH FRY, FISH FRY, FISH FRY!!
Fish fry season starts today. Join us at St Barnabas for our annual fish fry every Friday during lent, hosted by Troop 575.
Get there early to enjoy our weekly special, which tends to sell out every week. This week’s special is Fish Tacos with Mango Salsa.
Don’t have time to sit down and eat, we also offer a drive through. Use the QR code on the image to access the pre-order for drive through.

Throwback Thursday

In July 2023 our troop went to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base for a campout. The base has a small camping site just for Scouts to camp on the actual base. They spent the day exploring the Air Force Museum. And in the evening played a heated game of kickball. Which came to a screatching hault when we heard the roar of a plane engine on the near bye runway. Everyone ran over. Several of the scouts were able to get the pilots to wave back at them and we watch a large cargo jet takeoff.

To this day, all of the Scouts on that trip talk about how it is one of their favorites and have asked if we can go back in the future.
