The Northfield Ambulance Volunteers, Incorporated, is seeking applications for the Podgwaite Memorial Scholarship.
In Recognition of Mark and Betty’s achievements and numerous contributions to the Community; the Northfield Ambulance Volunteers, Incorporated established the “Podgwaite Memorial Scholarship” to be awarded to a graduating senior of the Paine Mountain School District.

The applicant should be enrolled in an education institution in a field of study which looks to improve the quality of life, health and/or safety for the people they will work with. This includes but is not limited to: Emergency Medical Services, Fire Service, Law Enforcement, Healthcare, Social Work etc..

The scholarship will be awarded to the student after successful completion of their senior year, and upon entering their enrolled education institution. The Northfield Ambulance Volunteers, Incorporated, will grant a onetime $500.00 award. The award will go directly to the student to defer expenses not covered by tuition. This will include but not be limited to books, supplies, and room and/or board.

Big shout out to Good Measure Pub and Brewery and in particular Scott Kerner for providing a great holiday appreciation dinner for the Northfield Ambulance members! This has been a very busy year for the ambulance service and we are very appreciative of all our members both past and present who proudly serve the greater northfield community!

CHRISTMAS TREE & WREATH SALE

The Northfield Ambulance Volunteers announce their 27th Annual Christmas Tree and Wreath Sale. Trees will be available November 29th thru Christmas Eve or until sold out, only 150 trees (one load) will be sold this year, get yours before they are gone! Prices are $35 & $40 depending on size. Wreaths are available beginning November 29th, until sold out; all wreaths are $30

Sales will be conducted at the Northfield Ambulance Bay during the evenings as well as on weekends. As always, free tree delivery is available. Contact NAVI President Lawton at 802-249-1898 for more info.

The Northfield Ambulance Volunteers Chicken BBQ will be held 10/12/2025 from 3-5 PM in the Parkin lot of Cardinal Point Screen Printing and Embroidery located at 127 North Main Street. Tickets must be purchased in advance and can be bought from any NAVI member, we will also have some for sale at Northfield Night on the Common. Cost of meal is $17 which includes chicken, side salad, pasta, roll and a sweat treat.

Northfield Ambulance Volunteers, Inc. and Waterbury Ambulance Service, Inc. proudly present the 9th annual Podgwaite Memorial Golf Tournament, honoring the legacy of Mark and Betty Podgwaite and their dedicated service to the EMS community. This cherished event began nine years ago as the Northfield Ambulance Volunteers Invitational Golf Tournament, aimed at supporting the Betty Podgwaite Scholarship and EMS Training Activities. Today, it continues to raise funds for the Betty Podgwaite Scholarship and to advance the missions of both organizations. Whether you’re a returning participant or new to the event or golf, we invite everyone to join us for a great cause! All are welcome to be part of this memorable occasion!
