Christian's Pumpkin Patch for Charity was established in the year 2003 by Christian Musarra. In 2003, when Christian was seven years old he and his family accidentally grew two pumpkins. Christian said to his parents that he wanted to sell them but to also give back to the community. Christian asked Peppers to donate corn stalks, indian corn, gourds or whatever they were able to. Christian set up
shop in his drive way and made $38 in profit his first year and the money was donated to the Akron Children's Hospital. Going into his second year, Christian decided that he wanted to bring his friend Anthony Guenther into the organization to help him and they have run Christian's Pumpkin Patch ever since. Last year, 2011, Christian and Anthony completed their 8th annual pumpkin patch with more support than ever before. Christian and Anthony set up the pumpkin patch on the corner of State Rt. 8 and Summit Ave. at the Cake and Candy Center. When the season came to an end their total profit was $1,700. The boys decided that they wanted to buy turkey dinners with all the fixings and give them to families in need. They bought 70 dinners and donated them to Ss.Cosmas and Damian in Twinsburg, Ohio and to Kennonsburg United Methodist in Kennonsburg, Ohio. They also donated part of the money to two charities at Nordonia High School. Christian's Pumpkin Patch has turned in to a ministry more than just a charity event. Christian and Anthony want to help all of God's people while preaching the truth to them if they are not believers in Jesus Christ. Christian now has more of a desire to run Christian's pumpkin patch now that he is saved and realizes that he is glorifying the Lord through his actions.
1 Corinthians 13:13
"And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity."
