Northfield CCL recently met again to write postcards for the Environmental Voter Project, with the main goal of the organization being to “identify inactive environmentalists and transform them into consistent voters to build the power of the environmental movement”. One of the biggest issues we face is the lack of voters who prioritize environmental voting. The Environmental Voter Project has mobilized many individuals across the country to become consistent voters. Interested in learning more? CCL MN volunteers attended Clean Energy Business Day to lobby for legislation that will reduce carbon emissions, including a proposed study about lifting the nuclear moratorium, and to permit the use of inexpensive plug-in solar panels that can be placed on balconies or patios. Volunteer lobbyists encouraged their state senators and representatives to collaborate and compromise to advance clean energy legislation. A highlight of the day was Paul Douglas who celebrated Minnesota's clean energy industry in the midst of increasing climate disruption and environmental policy challenges at the national level. In attendance were volunteers from most of Minnesota's CCL chapters.
