Today, Highland Valley Elder Services took part in a health fair/clinic at the town hall in Montgomery. The event was held from 10am to Noon. People were able to receive a flu and Covid vaccines. Highland Valley attended to talk about the services we offer to adults 60 and over.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by the Highland Valley Elder Services table at the Aging In Place Fair today. The event took place at the Munson Library in Amherst from 1:30pm to 330pm. Highland Valley was one of several vendors who offered information about the services they provide.

Massachusetts stepped up BIG for falls prevention!

We collectively achieved 159,423,268 steps statewide, which crushed our 100 million step goal.

Come out this Saturday, October 17, 2026 to the Munson Library (1046 S East St, Amherst, MA 01002) to the Aging in Place Fair sponsored by the Amherst Council on Aging and the Friends of the Amherst Senior Center. There will be 15+ booths with businesses and Services that support our seniors in the community. The Amherst Senior Services Center will be providing a shuttle to and from the Bangs Community Center starting at 1:00PM with the last drop off at 3:30 PM. Anyone needing transportation can meet us at the stop in front of the Bangs Community Center.

Tuesday, October 13th is Breast Cancer Awareness Day and October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Breast cancer is common in women over 60. In fact, the average age for a breast cancer diagnosis is between 61 and 63 years old.

What’s on the home delivered meal menu at Highland Valley Elder Services for Friday, October 9th? Something tasty on this cool fall day. Chicken and bean enchiladas, yellow rice and a Capri blend of vegetables. Our kitchen staff and delivery drivers are preparing and packing the meals for our consumers, enjoy!

A beautiful fall bouquet might just brighten your day and help an older adult. During the month of October, the Northampton Stop & Shop, located at 228 King Street, is offering Bloomin’ 4 Good Bouquets. The bouquets are $11.99 and for every bunch of flowers purchased, Stop & Shop will send Highland Valley a $1 dollar donation to help our Home Delivered Meals program. Thanks to Michele Guerrin, Floral Department Manager, for choosing our meals program as their Bloomin’ 4 Good nonprofit partner!
