One of the things that makes our community special is people working together. ❤️

A huge THANK YOU to the NZISD Ag Department and their talented students for building the trophies for the NZVFD Chili Cook-Off year after year.

Last year alone, the students fabricated 44 trophies, including 33 sponsor trophies for our event! Their craftsmanship and hard work help make our cook-off something we can all be proud of. 🏆🔥

As a small token of our appreciation, the NZVFD Auxiliary was honored to present a $500 donation to support the Ag Department and its students.

Thank you for being such an important part of our community!

Please help us welcome the newest members of the NZVFD Auxiliary — Amanda Wiedecker, Sabrina Harris, and Charlotte Osborne!

We’re blessed to have them join our team and look forward to working alongside these talented ladies as we continue supporting our fire department and community. We’ve already started discussing plans for the 2027 10th Annual Cook-Off, and we’re excited about what’s ahead!

What happened at this year’s Chili Cook-Off was nothing short of a blessing. As promised, and in the spirit of honesty, gratitude, and transparency, we’re sharing the full income and expense report below. Every dollar represents someone who showed up, gave, cooked, sponsored, volunteered, or supported — and we do not take that lightly. Thank you!

We are beyond grateful and still a little in awe. ❤️🚒

While we’re still waiting on a few credit card fees to post, we’re proud to share that we estimate this year’s Chili Cook-Off net profit will be approximately $71,000—another record-breaking year for our department.

The outpouring of support for this event has truly humbled us. From our sponsors who believed in us, to the cook teams who brought the heat, our vendors, our judges who volunteered their time and taste buds, our auction donors and auction buyers, and KMVL and The Madisonville Meteor for helping us get the word out—and every single person who showed up, ate chili, made a purchase, or simply came out to support us—this incredible result happened because of you.

Events like this remind us what makes our community so special. The North Zulch Volunteer Fire Department will be good stewards of this blessing, and we will share a complete financial income and expense report once the final numbers are confirmed.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing behind your volunteer fire department and showing us, once again, what small town, big hearts truly means. ❤️❤️
