Holier than thou?

A common reoccurring theme within the so-called “Modern American church” or “Modern church” is nitpicking, ridiculing, being petty over the small things as opposed to providing correction in love to someone who is or was stumbling over the big things. We are still to hold each other accountable to what the word says but also not being critical over every single thing that matters very little. Matthew 23:24-34 (24) Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel. (25) Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. (26) Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also. (27) Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For ye are like unto whited sepulchers, which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness (28) Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity. (29) Woe unto you, Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because ye build the tombs of prophets, and garnish the sepulchers of the righteous, (30) and say if had been in the days of our father, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets. (31) Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets. (32) Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers (33) Ye serpents, ye generation of Vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?

If you see this and it stings a little bit when you’re reading it then maybe you’re part of the problem and you need to look at yourself and allow the Holy Spirit to makes corrections where He knows they need to be made. In the verses above in Matthew to act like and to pretend you’re “Holier than thou” then you’re fooling yourself and as well you need to get rid of that pride. Pride comes before the fall which is exactly why HaSatan (Satan) was kicked out of Heaven. Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. If we claim to be righteous but are not adhering to that of the word then we are proclaiming our own righteousness which without the Lord does not exist and in its place is filthiness. It’s detestable to the Lord. However, we were all born sinners and we were all abominable in the eyes of the Lord before we came to accept Yeshua (Jesus) as our Lord and savior. Once we are saved all past things even though they’re remembered by man are not remembered by the Lord. The Lord got rid of all the past mistakes and forgives you. If you keep making the same mistakes then how do you expect for things to change and the Lord to bless you.

Just as Our Lord is merciful we too need to be merciful. Of course correcting in love when needed and not in hate, not to break someone down but to correct in love in order to build up. There’s a big difference, if you don’t know what the biblical definition of love is then let me introduce you to Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus the Messiah). If you say you are a believer and part of the body of Christ but don’t love then you’re not a true and real believer. 1 Corinthians 13:1-2 (1) Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not love, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. (2) And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not love I am nothing.

So are you “holier than thou?” Are you the reincarnation of the Son of God Himself thinking you can and are justified by nitpicking every little thing you think is wrong according to the senseless doctrine that you verbally vomit or have been indoctrinated to believe? (Sorry not sorry you are not the reincarnation of the Son of God) Or are you letting the Holy Spirit be your guide, and having love for one another being in the body of Messiah. Correcting when need be in love and not in hate, not in pride, but in humbleness. Choose ye this day whom you serve.

Daniel 12:3 KJV

[3] וְהַ֨מַּשְׂכִּלִ֔ים יַזְהִ֖רוּ כְּזֹ֣הַר הָרָקִ֑יעַ וּמַצְדִּיקֵי֙ הָֽרַבִּ֔ים כַּכּוֹכָבִ֖ים לְעוֹלָ֥ם וָעֶֽד׃
And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

These words were spoken to Daniel a prophet in the word when Elohim was showing him a vision. Upon reading it, it intrigued me. What is the "firmament" in the picture below its translated as "sky". However, according to strongs concordance #7549 it means "1b) firmament (of vault of heaven supporting waters above) 1b1) considered by Hebrews as solid and supporting 'waters' above. Strong's. From H7554; properly an expanse, that is, the firmament or (apparently) visible arch of the sky: - firmament.

It says if you're wise that you will shine as bright as the firmament. If you think about it and reflect then what would be in this expanse? It makes me think about the stars in the universe shining out amongst nothingness and vacant space. The stars give off light not just that they are light. Further on in this verse it says that those who bring many to righteousness will shine as the stars forever. We are called to go out and tell people about the righteousness of the Lord. If we have redemption through Yeshua HaMashiach and filled with the fire of the Holy Spirit then we not only have light but also give off light. We are wise because the Lord is wise and we have His light within us. Dont just hold the light to ourselves but give it freely and without hesitation. A star does not hesitate to shine; it just shines regardless of its enviroment and anything that might try to hinder it. Keep giving off light and showing it keep going, dont give up. Your reward will be that you have eternal salvation and eternal life. From shining so bright the dark will have no choice but to run the opposite direction. John 1:5 KJV "And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not."

Shine bright, don't give up, be wise.

I want to propose a question to all "believers". A sort of "check on learning" as what we used to say when I was in the Army. Are you really following the Savior Yeshua HaMashiach(Jesus the Messiah)? Are you meditating and studying His word everyday? Are you talking to Him?

In the word in James 4:17 KJV its says "Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin." If you know what the right thing to do is and you don't do it then it is sin. You're in the wrong. If you then use the word and twist it to fit your own sinful living then its called heresy which is also a sin then you're also being a Hippocrit. The word of Lord very plainly addresses this is says in 2 Peter 3:16-17 "‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬
"as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness." It means that if you twist the words of the Word of the Lord then you're bringing destruction and ruin upon yourself. It's because you're leading others astray because you're twisting scripture to justify yourself and the wrong you're doing saying one thing and doing another. In the New Testament the word used for this in the Greek is Strong's g5273
ὑποκριτής (hupokrités)- which means putting on a mask and putting on a play; actor. Are you the person putting a on play acting the part of a believer decieving people into thinking you're following the word being a Godly Man or Woman? If you are it's time you need to repent. Ask Yeshua to forgive you and get back on the right road again.
