I won’t call it charity, I think support is a better term, but being away from our support work has been disappointing for us. Having our fishing trip stolen from underneath us by a marine who had been invited on a previous trip was a blow to our efforts. Having moved to the Black Hills was to be our new beginning but with Covid driving people into that area was shocking when they started purchasing homes and property which tripled home and land costs, so that alone put a halt to our property search. We were able to to put on one small fishing overnight trip on the Missouri River but not as special as our week long trips in Minnesota. Having no property to raise and train service dogs has been a setback. We were fortunate to find a one acre property with a home in NH, Live Free or Die, and with property going up for sale soon we have the chance to add a few acres. This will give us the chance to start up our service dog program again. Living here in the North Country is awesome but finding shows to set up a booth for donations will be a challenge. Having lived in the Chicago area we had plenty of show opportunities monthly to raise the funds for the fishing trip and service dog care, now it’s back to work to try to find shows and hopefully a puppy donation or two for our Semper Fi Warrior dog program. Donations have always been a difficult struggle but a couple of VFW’s had helped when it was needed and out of pocket funding has never been an issue when it comes to supporting our amazing Veterans. As far as fishing in our area we have an an amazing network of lakes, mountain ponds and streams to fish, so here we are, getting ready to move forward…….
