Scituate Rocks -friendship rocks to find and hide

Hi members! Hope you are all staying warm. I also hope you have an opportunity to get outside a bit, and enjoy the beauty the season has to offer. I know that around this time we all get tired of the snow and cold. It is easy in the long winters of New England to get a little stir crazy, especially if you live with and care for small children.
One fun project I would suggest is painting rocks and hiding them in your area of Scituate.
This page is devoted to the painting, hiding and finding of all kinds of rocks by all kinds of people. So feel free to take this invitation to get creative, inspired, to paint and hid some rocks for others to find. Dont forget since we are hidding them outside please remember to seal them with shellac or mode podge.

Scituate Rocks is a friendship/kindness rock painting, finding and hiding project for the community!

- Pick up a rock at the library (or use your own!)
- Paint it or add some inspiring words
- Hide it somewhere in town
- If you find a rock - post about it on Scituate Rocks

Hi to everyone new who has been invited. Feel free to share and invite friends to join this page. Simply put we are a friendship rock group. We have hidden over 200 painted rocks around Scituate to spread joy. Thanks to the NSE students and PTO for the donation of 200 painted rocks, we are off to a great start.
The idea is to hide, find then post any of those rocks here. Once you have done that, you can rehide them some where else in Scituate.
Questions:
Why post? So we can all see the rocks we have painted and or hidden. Kids and adults alike enjoy taking part in this game. Why rehide? So that the fun can continue for the next group.
Can I paint a rock and hide it? Sure, most of the rocks painted by the group have something inspiring on them or a nice message to brighten someone's day. But you are welcome to paint whatever you might think someone would be happy to find. There is a post on this page for more tips.
The hiding begins this weekend and beyond.
We also have a fun event with our local library comming up next week. Take a rock, paint a rock, hide a rock. Anyone who might have some rocks laying around, feel free to drop them off at the North Scituate Library. Happy hunting.😁

Welcome to Scituate Rocks. We are a group of scituate residents looking to spread some fun and joy. We have painted some fun rocks and plan on hiding them around town to find and rehide. Please post a photo here of the rock for fun and then rehide somewhere in Scituate. Dont tell us where it is, that is half the fun. We welcome you to paint your own rock and hide them as well the more the merrier. So keep your eyes out and expect to find some rocks during the month of August. And keep checking back for paint events and more.

Hi everyone excited to start a fun community group. We are in the planning stages currently. I will be in touch as we go forward. I am expecting that we will be kicking off our group soon and you will be finding rocks around town by the end of August.
