If anyone is unclear about the new Tax Reform Bill let me clarify how it impacts our industry. The Fuel Tax will go up 6 cents a gallon and then upto 10 cents a gallon. That is on top of the taxes already on our Fuel.

It also requires Towing Companies to now collect Sales Tax on Towing Services!

So all towing companies will have to apply for a Sales Tax ID number, collect Sales Tax on all tows, open a separate bank account to hold the sales tax funds, and lastly send those funds quarterly or monthly (depending on the volume collected) to the Sales Tax Commission.

Attached is the link to donate so that the Referendum Packets can be printed for signatures. The estimated printing costs are $17,000 for the 2500 packets.

Good Afternoon Towers,

We are working with a group who has filed a Referendum to stall the new Sales Tax Reform Bill from taking effect. Not only will this bill require Towing Companies to collect Sales Tax on Towing and Storage, but it will also double the Tax Rate on Food Items State Wide.

On Thursday or Friday we will have the signature packets available and will be collecting signatures to stop the bill from taking effect in roughly 60 days and move it to the Ballot in November.

The referendum needs to get as many signatures as possible, We need no less than 116,000 signatures of Registered Voters to stop it.

We need as much help with this as possible. Would You, Your Family Members and/or Drivers (must be registered voters) be willing to sign in opposition of this bill so that Towing Companies do not have to collect Sales Tax.
