Silver Lake Splash

Silver Lake Splash Save the Date: Sunday, July 21, 2019 1pm to 5pm In 2010 the city of North St. Paul almost closed Silver Lake Beach due to budgeting constraints. North St.

Residents banned together and petitioned the City to keep the beach open and staffed with lifeguards. Paul has a small town feel, yet is located inside the 494/694 loop of the Twin Cities. What makes the small town feel is the historic downtown area, the parks and recreation and the beach. The beach brings swells of children in the summertime for laughter and fun in a safe environment. Additionall

y, the beach adds value to the properties near and around the lake and draws young families to purchase homes in NSP. An annual fundraiser is held to supplement budgeted city dollars in order to keep the beach staffed with lifeguards maintain This fundraiser, The Silver Lake Splash, takes place each July and the proceeds will be donated to the Beach Fund.

It saddens us greatly that this year we will not be hosting our annual Silver Lake Splash. ☹️. We know many of you look forward to it every year! The goal of the Splash has always been to help keep the lifeguards on the beach so it's a safe place for all. That is still our goal, so even though we can't host an event, you are still able to donate! Thank for your years of support!
We truly will miss seeing our community come together for this event.

Supporting the Splash has never been easier, and any contribution will be appreciated! If you can't donate money, but would still like to contribute, consider volunteering a short shift at the event or a silent auction item.

There are so many people to thank for making this event happen. I can’t list everyone here, but I wanted to call out a few exceptional ones:

Ms. Minnesota – Crystal, thank you for coming to our event. You saw on Facebook that we were doing something to keep our lifeguards at the beach, and being a former lifeguard yourself, you came out to support us! The great state of MN is incredibly lucky to have you represent us at a national level. https://www.facebook.com/MsMinnesotaUnitedStates

Tom Oaks & Gang – Tom, you and your guys did such an amazing job helping us get everything done before the event. We couldn’t have asked for a better set up crew. I don’t remember a more efficient set up than yesterday! Thank you.

Keith Stachowski – I can’t remember how many times I asked, “Where’s Keith?” because I needed help with something! All the work you and your city guys put in the days before, during and after is just wonderful. Thank you.

Chuck Nelson - Your character and kindness is a rare find. You set a example for our wonderful community and we are extremely grateful to you. Cheers to many more years of your daily swims!

And last but not least, I’d like to give a shout out to a gentleman (who I apologize for not getting your name) but who came out to our event despite struggles with social anxiety, depression and PTSD. Just one of those things are difficult to deal with, let alone all three, but how freaking amazing is that you still did it! You stepped out of our comfort zone and that tells me how strong of a person you are and next year, I’ll be looking for you sitting next to the band. Maybe we’ll have those free hot dogs then.

Again, I could call out at least 30 more people for being outstanding supporters of the splash!
Thank you all! - Becka - Splash Committee Member

We are so lucky to have Jessica Lutmer helping us provide face painting at the Splash! She is the young talented artist who painted the mural of the Last Supper in St Peters Catholic School Cafeteria. Make sure to stop by on Sunday and get your own piece of art painted on!

Silver Lake Splash- Beach Party Fundraiser

WHAT IS THE SPLASH?

The Silver Lake Splash is a beach party fundraiser. There are kid carnival games, bounce house, dunk tank, face painting, balloons, silent auction, cash raffle, live music, food vendors, crafters and community information.

The fire department brings their fire truck and they spray water during the whole event to help stay cool. So dress your kiddos is swim attire, bring a towel and have fun! The beach is open too so make it a fun swim time as well!

You purchase tickets to participate in games and activities. All the money goes right to the Splash Beach Fund which helps pay to keep lifeguards on the beach.
