During harvest time, loader and tractor operators are exposed to many hazards, including heavy machinery, dust, and noise. Personal protective equipment (PPE) mitigates these risks. The essentials include:
- Extended exposure to machinery noise can lead to hearing damage. Earplugs or earmuffs protect against this.
- Plowing, tilling, and harvesting kick up dust and other particles. Dust masks and respirators filter out these particles, so your workers only breathe clean air.
- Durable gloves protect against blisters, cuts, and abrasions from handling equipment or crops.
- Safety glasses or goggles shield the eyes from dust, debris, and flying particles.
- Don't forget to wear long sleeves, hats, and sunscreen to protect against sunburn and heat-related ailments.
