Four Geauga County Farm Bureau members testified before lawmakers in support of the legislation.

Introduced by Rep. Sarah Fowler Arthur (R-Ashtabula) and Rep. David Thomas (R-Jefferson), the bill would add trees cultivated for maple syrup production to Ohio’s statutory definition of agriculture.

The 2025 Growing Tomorrow Grant was awarded to Clover Valley Farms in Clermont County. The grant funds will be used to restore a dilapidated dairy barn on the property, which will serve as a much-needed community gathering space and accelerate the farm’s long-term goals by an estimated 10 years.
