UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN, MY DEAR FRIEND, PASTOR RAM SARRAN...
My dear friend, my brother in Christ, and my fellow laborer in the Gospel...
A little over four years ago, God brought you and your beautiful family through the doors of Cathedral of Life Ministries. I didn't know then just how special you would become to me, to our church, and to our lives.
But I knew almost immediately that God had brought us together for a reason.
Pastor Ram, you have been a faithful servant of the Most High God.
You've carried the Gospel across nations and continents. You've preached His Word, touched countless lives, and helped lead precious souls to Jesus Christ.
And even when your own body began to fail you, your faith never failed. I'll never forget those times visiting you, whether you were in a hospital, a rehab center, or at home, and hearing you quote the Scriptures, talking about the things of God, and witnessing that the same Holy Spirit who empowered you to preach around the world was still very much alive within you.
My dear brother, there is something I want the world to know about you...
YOUR LABOR HAS NOT BEEN IN VAIN.
YOUR MINISTRY HAS NOT BEEN IN VAIN.
YOUR LIFE HAS NOT BEEN IN VAIN!
"Though your earthly assignment is complete, the seeds you've planted will continue bearing fruit for generations to come. Your voice may be silent here on earth, but the impact of your Ministry will ECHO THROUGHOUT ETERNITY!" The Lives you've touched, the Souls you've helped lead to Christ, and the Gospel you've faithfully proclaimed will continue bearing fruit for generations to come.
And Pastor Ram, I want you to know that your family is loved. Deborah, James, and all your children and grandchildren are precious to us. You can be assured that they are surrounded by people who love them and will continue to stand beside them.
My dear friend, just before you left this world, I had the sacred privilege of standing beside you and speaking these words into your ear. Though you were in a coma, I KNOW in my heart that you heard me. And shortly afterward, you slipped from this earthly life into the “Glorious Presence” of the Savior you've preached about all your life.
PASTOR RAM, YOU BELONG TO JESUS! AND NOW, YOU ARE HOME!
The Apostle Paul said in 2 Timothy 4:7–8:
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness..."
And Jesus said in John 11:25:
"I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live."
Pastor Ram, you've spent your life telling people about Heaven. And now, Heaven is no longer something you preach about. It's something you are experiencing!
The Faith you've preached has become Sight! The Promises you've proclaimed have become Reality! And the Jesus you've loved and served so faithfully is now the Savior in whose Presence you stand!
And oh, my dear brother, what a “Glorious Reunion” you must have experienced with your precious wife, Lobby! After these years apart, together again in a place where there are no more strokes, no more hospitals, no more suffering, no more tears, nor more pain, and No More Goodbyes!
But most glorious of all, YOU HAVE SEEN JESUS FACE TO FACE!
And I can only imagine the joy of hearing those precious words:
"WELL DONE, THOU GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT... ENTER THOU INTO THE JOY OF THY LORD." — Matthew 25:21
Pastor Ram, there is an emptiness in my heart today because my dear friend is no longer here. I'll miss our conversations about the Scriptures. I'll miss your passion for the Word of God. I'll miss the fellowship we shared and the wonderful spirit you brought into our church.
But I refuse to say goodbye as though this is the end of our story.
Because, Pastor Ram, I fully intend to see you again!
One Glorious Day, when my own earthly journey is complete, I'll walk through those gates of glory. And somewhere in that great heavenly gathering, I KNOW I'll see my dear friend again.
And perhaps we'll pick up right where we left off, talking about the Goodness of God, the Wonders of His Word, and the Glorious Grace that brought us both safely… HOME!
I LOVE YOU, MY BROTHER.
It's been an honor to be your friend, to serve the Lord alongside you, and to share these precious years of ministry together.
Thank you for your Friendship. Thank you for your Faithfulness. Thank you for the Example you set before us.
Rest in the Presence of Jesus, my dear friend. Your Race is Run. Your Battle is Over. Your Victory is Won.
AND PASTOR RAM... THIS IS NOT GOODBYE!
IT'S JUST... UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN!
With all my love and the Blessed Hope of the Resurrection,
Pastor Mike Payne
