Our third annual Health & Wellness Fair will take place Thursday, October 15th from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Lots of great vendors, information, FREE glucose and cholesterol screenings and flu vaccinations.

The City's annual street painting program begins tonight. Our contractor, J.D. Striping Services, will work overnight from about 7:00 or 7:30 PM until 6:00 AM, weather and temperature permitting.

🛣️ Long lines first: Centerlines and edge lines will take about 4 to 5 nights.
🚸 Detail work next: School zone markings, railroad crossings, stop bars and crosswalks will take about another week.

Fresh paint needs time to dry, so avoid driving over new lines when you can. Thanks for your patience while we keep our roads safe and easy to navigate.

This is a great time to remind senior residents that our office has partnered with the North Ridgeville Fire Department for the Safe Senior program, to ensure senior residents have a working smoke detector on every floor of their dwelling. Survey forms are available at the Senior Center or online at https://www.nridgeville.gov/SeniorCenter.aspx

National Fire Prevention Week highlights simple habits that keep your home safer. Start with a quick smoke alarm check:
• Replace smoke alarms every 10 years
• Swap batteries at least once a year (or when you hear that warning chirp)
• Test alarms monthly to make sure they’re ready when you need them

A HUGE thank you to everyone who supported our team for the Lorain County Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Saturday. Our team raised $2,760, more than $250 over our goal. Donations are accepted through December 31, if you find some spare change and are able to donate, any amount is appreciated. Together we can make strides toward advanced research and support for dementia patients and their families.

As colder weather approaches, we are collecting new socks throughout the month to help our less fortunate neighbors. Donations at the Senior Center will go to the Lorain County Office on Aging’s food pantry, donations collected at other city buildings will go to North Ridgeville Community Care. Please help out by donating a pair or two.
