The Community Enrichment Center’s (CEC) mission is to Change Lives by Restoring Hope and Sharing God’s Love.

The Community Enrichment Center’s (CEC) mission is to restore hope, share God’s love and change lives. Originally formed in 1988 to provide grocery assistance to low-income families in Northeast Tarrant County, the CEC has expanded our services to serve victims of domestic violence, homeless and low-income families and individuals in Tarrant County. Today, the CEC works directly with these familie

s and individuals to move them out of crisis by providing safe housing, food, counseling, high school equivalency education classes, financial coaching, free income tax preparation and employment readiness resources. These tools and Christ-centered, fully-integrated resources help the CEC to restore hope and guide families toward a solid foundation and bright future which will end the cycle of domestic violence and poverty.

We were thrilled to welcome AC Blake from the Flourish Fund to our Partners in Faith meeting today. The Flourish Fund uses research and data to uncover the true challenges facing children and families today, helping communities find real solutions for lasting change.

AC dove into current trends affecting local kids and highlighted how communities are successfully responding. Following the presentation, we spent time discussing how to use these insights to deepen our impact and better love the families God has called us to serve.

Summer should be about making memories, not wondering where the next meal will come from. Did you know that 1 in 5 children in North Texas faces hunger during the summer months? When schools close, the safety net of free or reduced-price school meals disappears, leaving local families struggling to fill the gap.

At the CEC, we believe no child should have to spend their summer hungry. Our food pantry is working hard to provide nutritious, family-friendly groceries to our neighbors all summer long - but we can’t do it without you.

We love spotlighting the awesome partners that help our programs thrive, and today we are celebrating a special one!

For over 10 plus years, Midwest Food Bank has provided vital support to our food pantry. Once a month, they help us stock up on necessary snacks, fresh produce, and protein.

Strong communities are built together.

We are incredibly grateful for the generous support of two local civic groups: the Colleyville Lions Club and the Fort Worth Rotary Club. Both organizations recently presented our leadership team with donations to fuel the CEC’s programs.

These investments do more than fund our food pantry and affordable housing program. They also build stronger communities through our Summer Learning Program for children in one of our housing units. As the Fort Worth Police Chief recently highlighted at the Fort Worth Rotary meeting, crime prevention starts early. When we ensure our children can read well and thrive in school, we set them up for lifelong success and steer them away from negative paths.

We want to send a big thank you to the fantastic group from the Fort Worth Apartment Association who spent their FWAA Cares Volunteer Day in our CEC Food Pantry.

The multifamily industry proves time and again that it is about so much more than just housing: they are true community partners. We are so grateful for leaders who respond to neighborhood needs by rallying around causes that strengthen our local communities.

Because of their hard work and full hearts, our shelves are stocked and ready to serve our neighbors. Thank you, FWAA Cares, for partnering with us to make a difference! 💙

Check out this amazing crew! We were excited to have these Scouts volunteering in our food pantry as part of Ian Picciano's Eagle Scout project. They brought incredible energy - as well as 500 lbs of donated food - and a ton of hustle to help us support our community.

Thank you, Ian, and a huge thank you to all the volunteers from Troop 1910 who showed up to make this project such a success! We are so grateful for you all.
