Enjoy tonight’s celebration of art. Keep art in your life

Tonight, Broadway takes center stage. As we celebrate the Tony Awards, we also celebrate the theatre teachers, students, troupes, and school programs where so many Broadway dreams first begin. To every Thespian watching tonight: keep creating, keep learning, keep showing up, and keep telling stories that matter. The future of theatre is already in rehearsal.

When Naomi joined our theater family during her junior year, she jumped right in with enthusiasm, positivity, and a smile that could light up any room. Never afraid to try something new—even if it meant making mistakes along the way—she quickly earned the respect and admiration of her peers through her willingness to learn, grow, and lead.A natural leader, Naomi became someone others looked up to both on and off the stage. As Props Master, she brought creativity, organization, and problem-solving skills to every production, while also stepping into the spotlight as a performer in her senior musical. Naomi has truly found a home with us, and we have been fortunate to have her as part of our theater family. As she heads off to study engineering, we know her creativity, innovation, and the design skills she developed through Tinkercad will serve her well. We can't wait to see all the amazing things she builds and accomplishes in the years ahead. Masquers never leave; they just change costume.

Maeve has been a dedicated member of our musical family, bringing kindness and positivity to every production each fall. A fierce ensemble member, her confidence, stage presence, and vocal abilities grew each year. Despite being incredibly shy by nature, .Maeve consistently pushed herself outside of her comfort zone, proving that some of the strongest performers are the ones willing to take the biggest personal risks. Her willingness to step into a leadership role during the first half of her senior year demonstrated her maturity, reliability, and dedication to supporting those around her. Maeve's journey is a testament to the power of perseverance and personal growth. Watching her find her voice—both on and off the stage—has been a privilege, and we are so proud of all she has accomplished. We can't wait to see where her confidence, talent, and determination take her next. Masquers nvre leave, they just change costume.

For the past four years, Grace has been an essential part of our theater family, often found in meticulously hand-sewing, crafting props, and helping bring productions to life behind the scenes. While her hands were always busy creating, Grace was never far from a conversation, a story, or an imaginative idea that could make everyone around her smile. A creative soul through and through, she was never one to shy away from talking about her dreams, favorite stories, or latest ideas. An avid reader and writer, Grace could often be found doodling in her journals, always imagining and creating. Her creativity and chatty spirit brought warmth and personality to every rehearsal space. Grace, thank you for sharing your talent, heart, and endless creativity with our theater family. You will be deeply missed. Masquers never leave, they just change costume.

As Vice President, stage manager, problem solver, and the unofficial “dad” of our theater family, Matt has been someone we could always count on. No matter the challenge, he was always there with a positive attitude, a hard-working spirit, and a smile that could calm even the most stressful moments. Smart, dependable, and endlessly supportive, Matt became the person everyone turned to for help, advice, or simply encouragement. Matt worked hard to know everything about everything, always having the answer, solution, or random fact exactly when it was needed most. Whether backstage, keeping everything running smoothly, or supporting cast and crew members, his leadership and care helped shape the heart of our program. His shoes seem impossible to fill, but we will do our best. Matt, your positivity, dedication, and steady presence will be deeply missed. Thank you for everything you’ve given to this theater family. We will be there rooting you on as you pursue your musical passions at Vanderbilt University. Masquers never leave, they just change costume.
