🙏 On a somber note today…
It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic passing of a dear friend and valued partner in our industry – the owner of Boone Construction. Yesterday in North Port, he was taken from us far too soon in a traffic accident caused by a red light runner.
For the past 10 years, he was our go-to stucco expert, teaching us countless tips and techniques on stucco repairs that helped make Precise Painting the success it is today. His knowledge, kindness, and dedication touched so many in our local trades community across Sarasota, North Port, Venice, Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda, Englewood, and Arcadia.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Our deepest condolences go out to his wife, children, family, and everyone at Boone Construction during this incredibly difficult time.
Please drive safely out there, friends – hug your loved ones a little tighter today.

Alert for North Port Neighborhoods: Urgent Issue at North Port High School
Hey North Port neighbors!
If you have kids at North Port High School (or know families who do), this is something we all need to rally around. Right now, the 2,500 students there are dealing with a major problem: only TWO bathrooms are open for regular use, with the rest locked due to security concerns like va**ng and fights. This means a crazy ratio of 1 toilet per 1,250 students—way below OSHA’s recommended 1 per 50 for secondary schools.
What’s going wrong?
• Kids are getting marked tardy because they have to sprint across campus to find an open restroom, or wait in huge lines.
• Some are holding it in during class to not miss lessons, leading to real health risks—medical incidents have already happened.
• For students with disabilities, this could violate ADA and Section 504 laws, potentially costing the school big in lawsuits (tens of thousands in fees alone).
• It’s making the school feel unsafe and stressful, hurting attendance and grades (backed by CDC data showing better access = better outcomes).
The goal was to cut down on issues by locking doors, but it’s backfired—creating a toxic environment instead of fixing problems.
The fix? Unlock ALL student bathrooms and hire/add dedicated monitors for each one. This keeps safety in check while giving kids basic access to what they need. It’s a simple, common-sense change that aligns with the school’s mission.
A new petition just launched today (Oct 22, 2025) calling on the Sarasota County School Board (shoutout to Bridget Ziegler, Timothy Enos, and Robyn Marinelli) to make this happen. It’s at just 17 signatures so far—petitions with 1,000+ backers are 5x more likely to succeed. Signing takes 10 seconds and could make a huge difference for our local students.
