In chatting with her one day, I asked her if she had anything she always wanted to do but didn’t get to. She lived by the Gulf of Mexico and swam every day. She hadn't been swimming in over 20 years! More than anything, she would LOVE to go swimming one more time. She was sincere and said it with tears in her eyes. I was determined to make this happen for her. I got busy finding a pool I could tak
e her to, and getting a volunteer to help, getting a swim suit, and finally, I took her for a SWIM!!! And she swam really well… not just a dog-paddle. And she said it was “exhilarating!” And then she asked me if I’d take her again tomorrow!! She told everyone she made contact with that she had recently had the wonderful experience of swimming! Funny, but it was exhilarating for me too, to make her dream come true. Within a couple of months, she passed away. From that moment on, I knew that this was my passion- to grant the wishes of our Senior Citizens. Please help me help others and make more silver wishes come true!
