Don't forget about the quarter auction today at the North Port Education Center, off Pan American Boulevard, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
For anyone who loves outbidding others and winning quality gifts, come on out. Bring your quarters. There's pizza from Uncle Nick's.

Attention Parents.
Please participate in the great clothing and school uniform exchange from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sat. Aug. 3 at Freedom Bible Church in North Port.
The give and take clothing swap is just one part of the Information Station event. There will be disaster services teams available to speak to anyone who still has hurricane damaged homes and NEEDS non-payment grant funds. They will help with what steps to take to get the home-repairs money.
There will also be representatives from youth sporting, camping, musical and other activities for sign ups and resources.
Please bring clothing/ school uniforms in great condition to exchange and help others.
We already have dozens of sweat shirts and jackets to give away.
The first 150 children receive hygiene bags and can win prizes.
The event is sponsored by Holly's Hope, Friends of the North Port Library, Kiwanis Club of North Port, When All Else Fails in conjunction with Freedom Bible Church.

Suncoast Humane Society is in desperate need of temporary fosters we have 29 dogs and 27 cats in house that need a temporary foster until the storm is over. Can you please put a plea out in the paper in the community on Facebook anywhere and everywhere will be greatly appreciated Suncoast Humane Society 6781 San Casa Dr., Englewood, FL 34224 941-474-7884. No appointment just come in and bring home a baby. Keep it safe.

The Kiwanis Fishing tournament is the day before Father's Day at 8 a.m. at McKibben Park, off Sumter Blvd. The first 200 kids get a free t shirt, fishing pole, worms and a chance at a trophy for the most fish caught and the ugliest fish. Home Depot and the North Port Art Center will have crafts for kids. There's free lunch and snow cones.
This event is co-sponsored by Fish Florida.
Come have fun with the Kiwanis family.
