Santa’s Worskhop Story
A lot of people ask me why I provide this service every year, if it’s not for the money and why I take out my own time to write hundreds of kids for the holiday season and what I get out of it. I usually have one answer; my daughter.
In 2016 I went through a very hard year that resulted in the loss of my ability to see the daughter I helped raise. I struggled with depression, anxiety, thoughts of su***de and was continually suffering on a daily basis. I felt hopeless, but there was one thing that kept me going and it was the memory of something my daughter said to me specifically around Christmas time. She asked me:
I laughed and smiled and told her that I wasn’t capable of being Santa Claus. That magic like that only existed at the North Pole. She frowned and replied:
At the time, I thought nothing of it other than it being the sweet reply of a 4 year old little girl, but it had always stuck out in my mind. I remembered it year after year, up until I was no longer able to see her and it helped me to get through my hardest days. Little did I know it would be the magic in her words, that gave life to this idea.
