The health benefits of breastfeeding are well-researched for baby and parent! 🤱
Data from the USDA show that breastfeeding support efforts helped increase the number of WIC families who chose to start breastfeeding to 70% in 2022. While there’s still work to do, let’s celebrate the wins and strive for even stronger breastfeeding support this and beyond! 💖

Moving is a part of life for many military families, and your WIC benefits can move with you. You can even set up benefits before your household goods arrive at your new home! 🏠

Many WIC offices are located on or near military bases, making it easier to get resources like breastfeeding support and nutritious foods. Did you know? 🤔 Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) and Overseas Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) are not counted when applying for WIC!

Happy Breastfeeding Awareness Month!!

Did you know there are rules and regulations for breastfeeding a child in public?

Right to Nurse Anywhere: You can legally breastfeed in any public or private place where you are otherwise authorized to be.

Public Indecency Exemption: Nebraska law explicitly exempts breastfeeding from public indecency laws. You do not need to cover your baby or chest with a blanket.

Pumping Protections: Laws like the federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and the PUMP for Nursing Mothers Act require employers to provide reasonable break time and a private, non-bathroom space to express breast milk.
