Cans for Critters Cans for Critters is a recycling program to help FUR Animal Rescue in North Platte NE. Cans for Critters is dedicated to helping animals, one can at a time!

Every time you throw out an aluminum can, YOU could be saving lives. Our recycling program is a great opportunity for you to get involved in supporting the less fortunate animals in our community. Your donations help fund Fur the Love of PAWS Rescue, whose primary goal is to save lives at the North Platte Animal Shelter. W YOU CAN HELP: Save your cans! Once you are ready to donate your accumulated aluminum (all amounts, big or small!), you can drop your donation off at one of our designated "drop spots". "Drop Spots" are Large Kennels marked 'Cans for Critters' and are currently located for your convenience at:
1. The 'Bus Barn', just west of Cody Park
2 The Westfield Shopping Center behind Westfield Small Animal Clinic. (All funds raised at this drop are match by Dr. Kelly and WSAC)
3. Gary's Super Foods (4th St. Plaza) parking lot
4. Karl's parking lot at 901 S. Cottonwood
5. Brady, NE. right on the Highway

❤️ Why support FUR Animal Rescue?

Because when animals in our community have nowhere else to go, FUR shows up.
For 15 years, FUR Animal Rescue has worked tirelessly to keep the North Platte shelter no-kill while also helping the people behind the pets. We are an all-volunteer, state-licensed rescue with no paid staff. Every dollar donated goes directly back into the animals and the programs that keep pets safe, healthy, and with the families who love them.

When an injured animal enters the shelter needing emergency care, we help cover it. Flea treatment, ear infections, wounds, broken bones, critical care, medications, surgeries, specialty vet visits, we step in so animals get the help they need and the city shelter staff know they are not alone in handling it.

But our work goes far beyond rescue.
We help with: • Emergency veterinary assistance
• Spay and neuter support through
• The North Platte Pet Food Pantry
• Lost and found pet networking through LOST PAWS North Platte
• Rehabilitation and second chances through the FURcility
• Pulling animals from dangerous or heartbreaking situations
• Helping scared, overlooked, senior, medical, and special-needs animals finally find homes

We answer messages late at night. We network lost pets. We help people during emergencies. We advocate for animals that others walk past. We do the hard cases, the emotional cases, and the cases nobody else has room for.

When you support FUR Animal Rescue, you are supporting a safer future for animals in North Platte. You are helping keep the shelter no-kill. You are helping families stay together. You are giving abandoned and unwanted animals another chance at life.
