♻️ CANS FOR CRITTERS REMINDER ♻️

Cans for Critters is a recycling program that benefits FUR Animal Rescue, and it is entirely volunteer run. Volunteers take time out of their day to pick up the donated cans and get them recycled, so we really need everyone's help following a couple of very simple rules.

PLEASE, ALUMINUM CANS ONLY.

That means pop cans, beer cans, energy drink cans, etc.

NO tin cans.
NO cat food cans.
NO aluminum foil.
NO other metal.

When anything other than aluminum cans is put in our drop locations, our volunteers have to sort through everything and dispose of what cannot be recycled through our program. What should be a simple "pick up the bags and recycle them" volunteer job becomes much more complicated and time consuming.

We also REALLY need everyone to SECURELY TIE YOUR BAGS. Please double knot them.

When bags aren't tied and cans spill everywhere, someone has to pick up every single one. They smell, they attract bugs, and it creates an unnecessary mess for both our volunteers and the businesses kind enough to allow us to use their property as drop locations.

We would absolutely hate to lose one of our drop locations because these simple instructions aren't being followed.

Every Cans for Critters drop has signs stating:

ALUMINUM CANS ONLY.
SECURELY TIE ALL BAGS.

Please help us keep this program easy for our volunteers and respectful to the businesses that support us. We truly cannot stress these two things enough. Thank you for your continued support and we appreciate your donations!

💚 Please remember - we only accept aluminum cans at our drops. These drops are volunteer run and for Cans, only. We also beg of you to securely tie your bags. Can you imagine picking up 100 loose cans in the 95 degree heat, with bees and sweating and sticky and smelly and gross? It's no fun at all and we BEG of you to securely tie your bags.
If you're dumping a box of cans, maybe slap some duct tape on that baby to make sure it doesn't pop open.

We truly appreciate your support and hate bringing it up - but if you secure your Cans and only donate amuminim pop/beer/energy drink/etc cans - - it would be a tremendously huge, gigantic, mega, ultra, super duper help. Thank you!!! 💚

A huge THANK YOU to Oregon Trail Golf Course for collecting cans for our Cans FUR Critters program! ⛳❤️

To everyone enjoying a round of golf, we'd love to ask one small favor. Instead of tossing your aluminum cans in the trash, please recycle them through the collection at the course!

Every can helps raise funds for FUR Animal Rescue, providing food, medical care, spays and neuters, emergency veterinary treatment, and a safe place for homeless animals while they wait for loving homes.

It's such an easy way to make a difference. Simply finish your drink, toss the can in the collection, and know you've helped an animal in need.

Thank you again to Oregon Trail Golf Course for partnering with us and helping turn empty cans into second chances. We truly appreciate your support! 🐾♻️

About two weeks ago, a gentleman reached out to our Cans for Critters program and told us he had a large donation of cans in Sutherland if someone could pick them up. We were incredibly grateful!

I reached out to friends in Sutherland to see if anyone could help, and Katelyn Nichelson immediately volunteered. She loaded up an entire truckload of cans, but then messaged me and said there were still tons and tons left.
So I put out a plea for someone with a truck and trailer.

It wasn't long before Peyton Zeller with Rooster Roll-Offs reached out and said they would help. And wow, did they ever! They brought out a 20 yard dumpster, filled it with bagged cans, and even hauled everything to the recycling center for us.
This was a HUGE job that would have taken us countless hours, and their generosity made all the difference.

To the kind gentleman who donated the cans, to Katelyn for jumping in without hesitation, and to Peyton and everyone at Rooster Roll-Offs, thank you. Your willingness to help means more than you know.

Our community continues to amaze us, and we are so grateful for every person who helps make our mission possible. Thank you from the bottom of our FUR-filled hearts! 💚 🐾💚
