Sawy ophanages was born out of a loving heart for vulnerable communities in Africa. Founded by Annie & Kevin Wescott,....It is dedicated to promoting the welfare of the vulnerable. Due to high mortality rate & high levels of poverty in Sub-Saharan,.....Sawy shelters abandoned kids, ophans, homeless, infants, disability in southern Africa. Sawy also educates these kids & provides health care too th

rough practical lifetime skills and mentorship programs at our base centers in southern Africa

lt also empowers communities mentally, physically, morally and spiritually by providing them with neccessary life time skills & the message of hope too.(The Gospel)

It is also in the USA working on several programs which include (kids with no home, recreational activities, street corp dinners,homeless, foster care homes etc. SAWY supports people with intellectual disabilities in 24-hour residential settings that range from single-person apartment settings to group homes, which primarily serve three or four people in a home. All of our homes are located in communities, close to family members and friends. Volunteers of America’s residential service for people with intellectual disabilities is a long-term service. SAWY empowers disabilities to be independent and involved in their communities. We serve dozens of individuals with disabilities across the nation with specialized programs . Our services include in-home support, case management, day programs and supportive employment, specialized programs, host homes or foster care, and supported living. "We are making a commitment to people who are going to be depending on us for 30 or 40 years or more. Some of these individuals do not have families, so every celebration of their life - every birthday party, every Christmas present - will be our responsibility. Love is the essence of our mission." Join a lifetime Multi Project born out of a loving heart for 29 Vulnerable Communities in Sub-Saharan from infant to 25yrs ophans.

CHALLENGES

--68% abandoned infants.
--80% abandoned children.
--60% die from Malnutrition.
-- 60% kids are hiv positive
-- 2-11yrs old kids defied daily.
--1 in every 4 kids is defied every 4hrs. --80% kids & youths are in bad water, no food, bad nutrition only surviving on corn meal once every 2 days or none.
--40% kids in child labour working with bricks,pricks etc.
--Drugs, drinking, youth unemployment, child marriages.

Sawy is extensively working on the ground to bring hope in these communities.

Help bring hope to 5 million kids in 26 areas of Sub-Saharan Africa,..( Malawi, Burundi, Southafrica, Zambia & kenya.

Join a lifetime multi project born out of a loving heart for vulnerable communities fr infants to adults in Sub-Saharan Africa .

CHALLENGES.

--80% abandoned infants & children
--60% infants die upon child bearing.
--88% kids die of malnutrition
--2-11yrs old kids defied,...1 in every 4 kids everyday.
--80% have bad water, bad nutrition surviving on corn meal in 2-3 days.
--62,000 kids are hiv positive
--50% are in child marriages. 1 in 3 girls under 15yrs is married.
--Over 5million are ophans.

--No antenatal clinics
--No skilled mid wives
--Child labor...( bricks,picks, irons,..the poor kids have to handle).
--Unemployed youths, heavy drinking & drugs, hiv, poor nutrition, teenage pregnancies etc.

Sawy is working with 5,000 caseworkers that it has trained & over 1,000 volunteers to overcome these barriers in 26 rural areas of these countries. The project is aimed at restoring hope in these communities though faced with alot of challenges.

Sawy is launching (SECA CAMPAIGN) the sexual abuse child exploitation next month in zambia to help fight for kids that are being defied daily by adults.

We are launching this fight for kids campaign next month on Sep 30th , 2025 in zambia. You are welcome to support us in any way as we launch several activities in these communities.

We are also working on food nutrition programs as we plant nutritious farming gardens in these areas for the vulnerable kids, ophans, youths etc.

This also includes intervention centers,...antenatal clinics, youth empowerment, skills trainings, free medical care kits, classroom blocks, clean water projects, donations to schools & stop early marriages. Sawy strives to provide education ,shelter, food to the ophans & vulnerable kids.

A sad story is about a small girl in zambia who was sick of cancer and the father took her to hospital and stayed by her bed side. Every night,....he got up to go bath her. But what people didn't know is that he was actually sexually sleeping with her. The girl would cry whilst he opened the tap of water to prevent her from being heard. But one day,.....a social worker decided to follow in secret to see what was really happening and eventually caught this man red-handed. He has since being arrested. But can you imagine the damage that he has done to this girl. No one knows how long this has been going on. And this little girl is sick. This story isnt just one,....there are many numerous orther child abuse activities going on sadly.

We are launching this fight for kids campaign on july 30th, 2025 in zambia. You are welcome to support us in any way as we launch several activities in these communities.

Recently,...Sawy catered for its ophans in Africa as it continues its usual food pantry program with food, clothing & shelter for the kids.

Sawy is running similar programs in Malawi,kenya, & zambia for the ophans & vulnerable kids. In zambia, this project is in mtendere community where sawy is currently working on a farming project & community class.

We are accepting clothes, blankets, beddings, mosquito nets, school supplies, backpacks, medical kits & dried foods such as ...( beans, rice, sugar, salt, cooking oil, toiletries, diapers etc).

This past Saturday we held food pantries programs for vulnerable kids in malawi, Zambia & southafrica.

We provide fresh foods from our special home grown nutritious systematic lush raised gardens to help beat the unfavorable climates & low food production in remote areas of Africa.

We have since introduced these types of dry land farming to help serve the ophans & vulnerable kids that sawy ophanages manages in these countries.

Sawy has opened a similar project in one remote area of mtendere.

Below are some pics of our nutritious lush gardens of the many projects we have initiated.

(Sawy ophanages in Sub-Saharan Africa held its fundraising walk in Lusaka zambia today from mandahill to East park to raise funds for its ophanages that are ophans & vulnerable kids totalling 350 kids and another 450 kids.

The walk was also for new incoming kids that have no shelter from remote areas of dedza, mtendere, nsanje, balaka, chikwama, kanyama, bauleni, mtendere, mumbwa, shangombo, chinsali, southern, luapula & north western provinces that sawy is currently working on raising emergency shelter due to the rain season

Sawy strives to provide shelter, education & food security to these kids in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Sawy welcomes your help. It is also accepting physical donations such as clothes, beddings backpacks, books, toys, computers, wheelchairs, mosquito nets, dried foods etc. Send them to our official office in North platte, Ne,..USA.

Sawy ophanages continues to support vulnerable kids with shelter, education, food security & water sanitation.

We are now in the ‘stages of readiness’ of the Classroom block of 4 in chikoswe & dedza. These are remote poor areas with 78% ophans with no education.

We are currently on installation of the roofing, windows and doors, respectively as seen below.
All that remains is plumbing the Men’s and Women’s restroom and procuring the tables and chairs for the 4 classrooms. The approximate costs that you can help us with,....are as follows:

(Individual set) 1 table & 5 chairs - $370

(Per classroom) 6 tables & 30 chairs - $2,300

(All 4 classrooms) 24 tables & 120 chairs - $9,200

Sawy shelters over a 1000 kids & 28 infants in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Sawy has been working on an ophans learning center and works are almost complete at 95%. This learning center houses upto 100 ophans.

This week we are preparing to ship more items to Sub-Saharan Africa from our home office in North platte, Nebraska. If you have physical items send them direct to North platte Nebraska.

We are in constant need of blankets, backpacks, clothes,toys, school supplies, books, diapers, feeding bottles, mosquito nets, mattresses, wheelchairs, computers, tables,tents, dried foods such as rice,salt,sugar,beans, cooking oil,soaps,lotions etc.
