Dive into the world of German cuisine with these crispy and delicious Potato Pancakes! Perfect for a hearty brunch or a comforting dinner. 🥔🥞

RECIPE

Ingredients:

1 pound of potatoes
1 small onion
Pinch of salt
Pinch of pepper (optional, for savory pancakes)
3 tablespoons flour
1 medium-sized egg
Oil for frying
Directions:

Wash, peel, and grate the potatoes and onion into a bowl.
If there's excess water in the grated potatoes, drain some of it out.
Add a pinch of salt, pepper (if making savory pancakes), flour, and the egg to the grated potatoes and onion. Mix well, preferably with clean hands.
Heat two tablespoons of oil in a pan. Add two tablespoons of batter per pancake, ensuring they are not too thick or large.
Cook each side until golden brown (3-4 minutes per side), then remove and place on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.
Keep the cooked pancakes warm in a preheated oven while you cook the rest.
Serve immediately with apple sauce for a sweet taste or sour cream, yogurt, or quark for a savory taste.
