Have you heard the news? The Congressional Gold Medal Act honoring the volunteers and communities that kept the North Platte Canteen running passed in the Senate thanks to the efforts of

The Act now needs to pass in the House of Representatives. If you’re local, reach out to . Adrian Smith and let him know that you want to see this act pass. If you’re not local, reach out to your representative and let him or her know how you feel. Once it passes in the House of Representatives, it will be sent to the president to be signed into law.

We would love to see the volunteers receive this special recognition for the amazing work they did during World War II.

SOMETHING TO SEE ... THIS weekend at Heritage Festival! Two antique quilts -WW I and WW II- that will be on display at the Museum ... and then next week will be displayed at the annual Nebraskaland Days Quilt Show at Bethel Church-West Philip. Be sure to stop by the Fredricksen House at the Museum and see the Quilting demonstration this weekend!
