The Lee Bird Composite Squadron is a non-profit individually chartered unit of Civil Air Patrol. This squadron provides Emergency Services support and a Youth Program for kids 12 to 20 years of age that provides a great opportunity to complete various requirements, receive promotion in rank, ribbons and certificates and be potentially eligible for nationally sponsored activities, flight and academ

ic scholarships. This squadron depends on volunteer pilots and other adult air crew members and cadet ground crew members to conduct its missions.

The Lee Bird Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol is helping with the Wreath Across America event. They have a big goal of collecting sponsorships for 1,500 wreaths this year to be placed on headstones of Veterans. If you would like to sponsor a wreath, go online at www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/pages/42633 & click on sponsor a wreath. If you would like it placed on a specific grave, please let us know.
Interested in helping unload the truck a few days before the event?
Want to help place the wreaths on Saturday, December 13th at 11:00 a.m. Please go online at www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/pages/42633 & click on volunteer. It is helpful to register on-line so we can contact you if there are any special announcements.
Booths will be set up around North Platte on Thursdays from 10:00 a.m-4:00 p.m. on the following dates/locations: September 18th - Fresh Foods on 4th St, September 25th - Ace Hardware, October 2nd - Bomgaar's, October 9th - North Platte Hardware, October 16th - Fresh Foods on 4th St, October 23rd - Ace Hardware, October 30th - Bomgaar's, November 1st & 2nd Cowboy Christmas at D&N, November 6th - North Platte Hardware, November 13th - Fresh Foods on 4th St, November 20th - Ace Hardware.
You can also stop by Great Plains Realty at 511 S Dewey, North Platte to complete the sponsorship form.

Lee Bird Airport Ground Breaking Ceremony
Our cadets had the opportunity to present the Colors and lead the Pledge of Allegiance and then to meet with Several Nebraska Senators as well as our Governor.

The Senators were very impressed at the professionalism of our cadets and offered their support for the cadet’s College placement here in the near future!
