When you hear a Guardians Of The Children member talk about our organization, you may hear them say “we adopt kids into our family”…
But what does this mean? 🤔
We don’t legally adopt children, but once a child has been the victim of abuse and there is a chance he or she may have to testify in court, we extend the opportunity to them to be part of our family.
If they accept our invitation, we do the following...
⭐️Allow them to choose a road name. (This helps maintain anonymity for their safety)
⭐️Set up an adoption day.
(All of our background checked patched and probationary members attend)
⭐️We roll in on our bikes so they can hear the amount of support they have.
⭐️They receive a vest complete with a “Little Guardian” back patch, and a road name patch.
⭐️We give them other items so they always have a piece of us with them when they might feel a little scared or need a reminder of the support they have.
Once they are part of the GOC family, they can call their point of contact (or any other member) at any time.
We attend their court dates to empower them to be brave in the face of their perpetrator.
And we provide opportunities for them to socialize with other little ones to give them a chance to be a kid and have fun by doing monthly events with them.
This is just a few of the things we do! If you'd like to learn more about our organization please reach out!
