We would like to congratulate Deputy Chief Beattie on his retirement from the North Plainfield Fire Department, after nearly 35 years of service. Deputy Chief Beattie joined the department in June of 1991 as a callforce member and began his career as a Firefighter/EMT on March 15, 1999. He was then promoted to Captain in April of 2012, and Deputy Chief in November of 2021, where he also served as the Fire Official.
Throughout his career, Deputy Chief Beattie played a vital role in our union. He fought for a health and wellness program, switching our schedule to a 24/72 shift, and countless other benefits for our union and the community in which he served. One of his major contributions was helping to build up our St Baldrick’s Event that we host each year. It has become a huge success to help conquer childhood cancer. Throughout his entire life, he gave his heart and soul to the town of North Plainfield, the community and the fire department.
Thank you for everything you have contributed and making our lives, careers and town a better place! We wish you good luck with all your future endeavors and have a happy and healthy retirement!
