Good morning on the Eve of St. Baldrick's Day in North Plainfield!

Tomorrow is our Virtual Event and we are very close to reaching our modest event goal of $20,000.

To realize our goal we need to raise just $70 each, that is all!

I know we will, remember the fundraising doesn't stop, our event page and your participant page will stay active for most of the year!

As promised, this year we are recognizing the Top 5 with funds posted online at 6pm today. But it is far from over!

We have less than a week to go until our 2021 Virtual Event. Please continue your fundraising efforts, we are less than $5,000 from our event goal of $20,000.

Our event page, and your participants page, remain open for donations for most of the year so it truly is never too late to advance the mission of the St. Baldrick's Foundation!

Traditionally, we award the Top 5 Fundraisers at the event using the total amount raised online a the start of the event. We cannot use that format this year due to the planning and production of the virtual event.

So......we are going to use the total amount posted online at 6pm on Monday, March 15th. Remember, we use the total posted online, so if you have collected cash you can post it using tools in your Participant Page!

While this year's event will once again be virtual due to COVID-19 considerations, we once again ask you to join your North Plainfield Professional Firefighters, Local 2958 / 2983 members remotely to Conquer Kids Cancer!

EVERY 2 MINUTES SOMEWHERE IN THE WORLD A CHILD IS DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER. ALL DAY, EVERY DAY - about the time needed to log onto your laptop, order a coffee, or brush your teeth. It’s also about the time it takes to have your head shaved to support childhood cancer research!

More than $1.2 million has been raised by this annual North Plainfield Fire Department event since it began 18 years ago!

All monies raised benefit the St. Baldrick's Foundation who fund meaningful science in the way of grants, fellowships and clinical trials with the greatest potential of curing childhood cancers and reducing the sometimes life-long side effects of cancer treatments.
