Shining Light, Bringing Hope to Trafficking Surviviors LightHousePBC provides mental health counseling and trauma therapy to survivors at low or no charge.

We offer a CEU course for identifying trafficking victims in the medical setting. We currently run the John School program for Palm Beach County (JohnSchoolPBC.org). (A john school is a deferment or sentencing option for individuals arrested for prostitution/solicitation.) Separate courses are offered for buyers (TRAPS) ; and victims (ReSPECT). We are also putting the details together to run mento

ring programs at local laundromats for women in the commercial s*x industry. We will cover costs for women to do their laundry while they participate in the class. This is an effort to build relationships - and in doing so create the momentum for "the next step" in the lives of the individuals we serve.

Understanding grooming is one of the first steps in preventing exploitation. Grooming often begins with trust, kindness, attention, or gifts, making it difficult to recognize. By learning the warning signs, we can better protect those who may be vulnerable and respond with greater awareness and compassion.
