Community happens when people and businesses come together to care for the most vulnerable among us. ❤️

During the month of April, we were incredibly honored to partner with OrthoSC as they hosted a donation drive to help provide much-needed supplies for the families and individuals we serve at North Strand Community Home.
What made this partnership so meaningful is that OrthoSC shares a heart for compassionate care, dignity, and serving people well. Their willingness to use their platform to bring awareness and tangible support to our Home is making a real impact in the lives of vulnerable neighbors right here in our community.

Last October, we launched our Wheels of Hope Drive with a simple but urgent need: after years of faithful service and more than 200,000 miles, our two shelter vans had simply aged out.

These aren’t just vehicles.
They are lifelines.

Every single day, our vans: 🛻 Transport residents to work so they can maintain employment
🛻 Take families and individuals to critical appointments
🛻 Help provide meals through our community partners
🛻 Deliver supplies and resources to those rebuilding their lives

Simply put… our vans keep hope moving. ❤️

When a generous donor stepped forward with a $5,000 matching gift challenge, this incredible community responded in a powerful way. Together, YOU helped raise $10,000!

Because of your generosity — along with the kindness of Bible Fellowship and a small loan of $10,500 — we were able to purchase a practically new van that is already making a difference in the lives of vulnerable families and individuals in our community.

As an organization, we are deeply committed to being good stewards of every donation entrusted to us. Our desire is to continue operating with wisdom and move toward being debt free so more resources can go directly toward serving those experiencing homelessness and crisis.

The North Myrtle Beach branch of United Community Bank recently hosted a financial literacy class for our residents, covering topics like managing income and expenses, budgeting, saving, and setting financial goals. It perfectly aligns with our mission to help residents achieve greater independence. Many thanks to branch manager Lindsey Winner and the bank team for their ongoing support.

We are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of love and generosity that made Easter so special for the children and families we serve. ☦️💛

A heartfelt thank you to Abby, owner of Little Shell Children’s Store in North Myrtle Beach, for her amazing generosity—providing Easter outfits for every child, along with two additional outfits each. What a blessing! We’re also so thankful to Redemption Hill Church for the thoughtful Easter baskets for every child, and for the diapers and wipes that will support our babies and toddlers in such a meaningful way.

A very special thank you to Dolly McDermott for preparing and serving brunch to all of our residents. Thank you, Camp Swamp Church in Loris for creating such a joyful and memorable experience—hosting an Easter egg hunt, leading fun arts and crafts, and sharing a meaningful time of service and dinner with our families.

Because of the kindness and compassion of our community, holidays like Easter become truly unforgettable. And the need doesn’t stop here—our families rely on continued support throughout the year.

North Strand Community Home is truly honored to have been selected as a recipient of the Arby’s Restaurant Foundation, with proceeds from March sales across 6 local restaurants poured back into our mission.

This isn’t just a donation—it’s meals shared, hope restored, and tangible support for the children, veterans and families we serve every single day.

Over the past fifteen years, North Strand Community Home has greatly benefited from the thoughtful support, kindness and professionalism of the North Myrtle Beach Police Department. The officers regularly assist our vulnerable neighbors, bringing homeless individuals to us during Code Blue situations (extreme winter weather), as well as throughout the year whenever they find someone in need.

Most recently, two North Myrtle Beach police officers brought a disabled person who had been living in his truck for almost a year. We were able to offer him temporary shelter, and with the help of one dedicated volunteer, he has now secured more permanent housing.

The officers consistently treat these individuals with gentle care and compassion, always making them feel valued. North Strand Community Home is grateful to be part of such a supportive and caring community. We believe when we invest in others within our community, we lay the foundation for our future.

We are honored to partner with OrthoSC throughout the month of April as they host a donation drive to collect much-needed supplies for our Home. OrthoSC shares a similar vision of compassionate care and service, which makes this collaboration especially meaningful.
