Established in 1994, we have been thought leaders in the interactive virtual learning space since before “remote learning” and “virtual experiences” were catchphrases. Over the years, we have developed hundreds of partnerships—with museums, zoos, science and performing arts centers—to provide kids and educators with access to limitless learning opportunities. We expand boundaries and change lives by making learning accessible, regardless of physical location or financial wellbeing.

Giraffes, the tallest animals on earth, are a keystone species that play a major role in their ecosystem. Over the past decade, giraffe populations have shrunk at an alarming rate due to habitat loss, human population growth, poaching, disease, war, and civil unrest.

With a mix of live footage, keeper interviews, and video clips, Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium will help you learn about the "silent extinction" facing these majestic creatures. Participants will also learn just makes them so special, from their prehensile tongues to their six-foot legs.

Dr. Marshall is a Professor of Education and Director of Language Education Programs at Long Island Univeristy Hudson, she also is the creator of the Synchronous Online Flipped Learning Approach, known also as, SOFLA.

Together, we explore fundamental design problems in online learning and how empowerment emerges when the right learning conditions are created. She then shares how SOFLA was developed to treat virtual instruction as its own medium — one built around purposeful pedagogy, interaction, and learner agency.
