Little Rock Arkansas is home to the 42nd Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) - an auxiliary of the United States Air Force. Cadets meet each Tuesday at 6:30 PM until 9:00 PM

Senior Members meet on the second & fourth Tuesday of every month at 6:30 PM until 9:00 PM

Park in the lot on the west side of the building and enter through the front door (facing Crisp Drive). After you go in the front door go up the staircase on the left to where the squadron meets. CAP operates one of the largest fleets of single-engine aircraft in the world, used to carry out missions dedicated to aerospace education, emergency services (by both land and air), and cadet (leadership) programs. We are part of more than 1,500 squadrons, with more than 60,000 volunteer cadet and adult members nationwide. Whether your interests are in flight training, aerospace, survival training, or just a desire to serve your local community – there is a place for you in the Civil Air Patrol!

On September 9 we had the honor or hosting a wing wide NCOA, led by our very own c/Capt Steinbeck. The cadets attending learned about their roles in the squadron and how to advance their leadership skills both in and out of CAP. We are very proud of all attendees and cannot wait for the future they will bring!

Next week, Tuesday the 29th, join us at 6:30 pm for our open house! CAP holds a lot of fun activities and opportunities for growth. We play leadership and team building games, learn about aerospace and the military, and do cool overnight activities. About a month ago we got to stay the night at the Titan Ranch Missile Silo in Vilonia. We also get to have one of a kind mentorship opportunities like our Q&A session with pilots in training Capt. Shreiber, 1st Lt. Maynard and Cahill, and 2nd Lt. Gomez. The Civil Air Patrol is a great way for youth to get involved in the community and it provides a great path for personal growth in both education and leadership. Come check us out this week at HQ!

In the month of April, the cadets of the 42nd had the opportunity to build and launch model rockets! Model Rocketry is just one of the many ways Civil Air Patrol encourages STEM activities and interest in its cadets. Each of the participating members will earn a badge for their accomplishments in the rocketry program, which they will then be able to wear on their uniforms!

We will be walking guests through a typical meeting night at the Squadron, as well as discussing opportunities for growth and unique experiences within the program.
