We at STEP Ministries, have difficult news to share. Brandon Copeland, STEP Rose City Mentor Coordinator, passed away from a cardiac event on Sunday, June 21st. We are heartbroken.

Brandon was so passionate about the Gospel and the work of STEP! He was looking forward to the launch of STEP Rose City this fall and was working hard at coordinating all of the work to prepare the Rose City gym for the mentoring program. He finished well - leaving everything on the table in his work for the Lord.

Please keep his wife and family in your prayers. His family has asked that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his memory to STEP.

Brandon, you made an inspirational impact on everyone you met. We love you. We know you are now thrilled to be in the presence of your Lord and Savior.

Today, we join our nation in recognizing Juneteenth, a day that marks the effective end of slavery in the United States. On June 19, 1865 (two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation and 87 years after the Declaration of Independence), many African Americans who were still enslaved finally received the news that they were free.

Juneteenth invites us to remember both the painful realities of injustice and the enduring hope found in freedom. As we honor this day, we celebrate the resilience, courage, and contributions of generations of African Americans who have shaped our communities and our country. We also pray for God’s continued work of justice and restoration in our world, trusting in Christ as the source of eternal hope and freedom.

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT! This week at our end-of-year events, STEP is celebrating SEVENTY-EIGHT 3rd - 12th graders' salvation decisions to follow Jesus!! We wanted to commemorate this most-important decision by giving each of them their own high quality, age-appropriate study bible. We know angels in heaven are celebrating as well that these children have chosen JESUS!
