Another month has gone by since our last breakfast meeting. It was really a good one, we had about 100 people in the EAA hangar. The food was flying off of the big buffet bar as fast as we could cook it. The tall tales were flying and it looked like everybody was having a good time.
The weather forecast for Saturday is for a little spotty light rain so that should not be any problem. Remember that the hangar is heated and air conditioned so we are always comfortable. We serve fresh, hot food from 8:00 till 10:00 and we hope to see all of our friends enjoying themselves.
Driving in, enter thru airport gate 20 which is 1 block south of the main airport entrance on Remount Road. For fly-ins the hangar is near the beginning of runway 5.
P.S. If you know of someone that you think would like to get this monthly breakfast reminder, send me the email. If you want off the reminder list just email or phone me. Thanks, see you Saturday.

Doug McDowall (1946 – 2025)

As some of you already know Chapter 165 suffered a very sad loss when longtime member Doug McDowall passed away on August 24. He had been a member of the Chapter for over 30 years. Doug served in Vietnam with an Army helicopter unit and used some of his GI Bill benefit to get his private license. He was a lifelong pilot and owned a vintage Luscombe that he flew for a number of years.

Doug was a hugely active member of the Chapter and participated in all our events. He took particular pleasure in driving the Plane Train, a childrens’ ride that the Chapter takes to various public events around the state. Doug also served in a variety of Chapter officer positions over the years. He was a valued Chapter member and a good friend. We’re all going to miss him.
