No Forgotten Kids

No Forgotten Kids We're proving that quality education for the world's poorest children is not only possible — it's economically sustainable. Many challenges exist.

Through innovation, not perpetual aid. Instead of "how much does it cost?" we ask "how do we design schools that fund themselves?" We think that kids in pain deserve help wherever they are. That’s why we have made it our mission to give kids in the most forgotten places hope for the future.

800 million people cannot read or write, mostly kids - leaving them condemned to live in extreme poverty. W

hile a world-wide effort is underway to eradicate illiteracy, there are children who still fall through the cracks, children beyond the reach of schools and teachers. Little on the ground knowledge exists for implementing low cost alternatives on a wide spread basis. Many options are available. Comparative testing is essential if we are to squeeze out every last dollar of waste. The most effective way to reduce illiteracy is to reduce the cost - but not the quality - of education. No Forgotten Kids believes that combinations of low cost learning techniques and alternative technologies can drive down the cost dramatically and give a quality education to the worst off kids in the most forgotten places. No Forgotten Kids is currently building and renovating two schools in Haiti with a third under way equipped with computer labs testing e-learning options. Other progress includes:

-translating existing e-learning courses
-using existing French learning courses in upper grades
-exploring solar energy to power computers
-sending donated computers from Florida to Haiti
-sponsoring a contest to select Haiti’s Best Teachers

Tonight Haiti plays Brazil in the World Cup.
At Academie Lead Haiti in Milot, students play football on a dirt field with everything they've got. Two championships to show for it. Maybe tonight, watching their country take on Brazil, one of them imagines themselves on that same world stage.
Students at Academie Lead Haiti are well-rounded, thriving in academics, sports, and music. Parents will be volunteering each month as a way to offset tuition, just one of 78 interventions from A Blueprint: A Framework for Educational Autonomy. The model projects $194 per student per year to operate, $342 in revenue, and a $148 surplus that funds expansion and quality improvements.
The school is designed to be self-sustaining and built for donor exit, not donor dependency.Academie Lead Haiti is our Proof of Concept for A Blueprint: A Framework for Educational Autonomy.
Fund the model. Not the donor cycle.

Most schools in the developing world are designed as liabilities-to need outside funding forever. A Blueprint for Educational Autonomy flips that. Solar power that runs the classrooms and sells energy to the community. Clean water systems that serve students and generate income. Vocational training where students build skills that stay in the village.
Every campus is held in a Community Land Trust, owned by the community, on terms they set themselves.
We are running a Proof of Concept at Academie Lead Haiti in Milot. We're seeking investors who want to fund the model, not sustain a cycle.

This is what the work looks like on the ground.
Jose Jean-Pierre, Executive Director of Lead Haiti, spent the day scouting spoke locations for our hub in Milot. Spokes are small schools placed inside a village, within a thirty-minute walk for every child. The hub-and-spoke model is one of 78 evidence-based interventions designed to make each school self-financing. $194 cost per child. $342 revenue. $148 surplus.

Success- in and out of the classroom, at Academie Lead Haiti. The Academie is our proof-of-concept school planned to implement as many of the evidence-based interventions laid out in 'A Blueprint: A Framework for Educational Autonomy'.
Solar, water, multi-grade classrooms, community ownership, and other interventions are the pathway to transforming itself into an economic engine.
The Academie celebrated their victory in the final football tournament over the weekend! Congratulations!

Frank Shooster, founder of No Forgotten Kids and creator of
'A Blueprint for Transformative Education,' spent this week in Haiti. Frank was hosted by Jose Jean-Pierre, Lead Haiti founder and director of our proof-of-concept site, Académie Lead Haiti in Milot.
They listened to parents, scouted for satellite school locations, met with the press, and the local governor and mayor. A highlight was spending time with Leroy Jean-François, founder and director of Collège Christ Roi and an education icon.
The Blueprint isn't theory. It's a model of 74 interventions, designed for schools to be self-financing within five years.

Haiti is our proving ground, but the world is our mission. If you want to be part of proving the transformative model works, we'd love to discuss where your expertise or donations can be applied.

Building partnerships that matter. This week, No Forgotten Kids Executive Director Edie Scott and Rev. Jose Jean-Pierre- founder and CEO of Lead Haiti - Compassion For Humanity, met with a potential partner who has been operating in Haiti since 1986, focusing on relieving poverty, providing food, building homes, and supporting education and healthcare despite ongoing security challenges. Jose's wife, Rolande, joined them as they shared each other's mission, vision, and explored how they might work together to reach more children.

April marks the beginning of our world tour. We're taking The Blueprint to 12 countries over seven months with one mission: build the coalition to educate 270 million children.
We're meeting with universities, NGOs, and multilateral agencies- introducing the framework, pursuing speaking engagements, and building the philanthropic and intellectual partnerships that will carry this work forward.
And we're sharing the progress at our proof-of-concept school in Milot, Haiti.

This isn't a story of bad intentions. It's a story of broken design- a model that treats education as a cost to subsidize forever, rather than a system that funds itself.
The Blueprint doesn't ask for a recurring grant. It asks for one-time capital to build a school cluster that generates its own revenue- turning education from a perpetual expense into a self-sustaining community engine.
Your gift doesn't create dependency. It ends it.
