The Las Vegas Celtic Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to celebrating Celtic heritage in Southern Nevada and organizers of the Las Vegas Celtic Festival and Highland Games. You'd better believe it. Beer? Whiskey? Food? All of the above. One weekend each April the our volunteers throw the Las Vegas Highland Games, a massive festival for the community featuring Celtic music, food, vendo
rs, and athletics. Some of the highlights include:
Live Celtic music on our main stage all weekend long. There's plenty of grass seating in front of the stage, so bring your lawn chair (or check out our VIP Tent)
Highland Dance Competition on Saturday organized by the Las Vegas Highland Dance Association and sanctioned by FUSTA. We have highland dancers of all ages competing to live bagpipe music. This takes place on our second stage. Bagpipe and Drum Band Competition put on by LVCS and sanctioned by WUSPBA. There are bagpipe and drum bands of varying skill levels competing against one another in our competition area. There is also solo competition for bagpipers and drummers that takes place in the early morning to afternoon. Scottish Heavy Athletics sponsored by local businesses and put on by LVCS. These guys and gals throw some seriously heavy stuff. The event features throwing weights, putting the stone, hammer throwing, sheaf tossing, and the infamous caber toss (those telephone poles you see them hurling). These are all fascinating to watch and true tests of physical strength. The VIP Tent. Last but certainly not least, we have the best seats in the house. The VIP tent has an excellent view of the main stage events, as well as inclusive food and drink in a great setting. You can find out more by clicking here. There is so much more to the Highland Games, including food vendors, kilts and toy vendors, whisky tastings, and even a children's glen. It truly is a massive event, and we look forward to seeing you this year!
