Nevada PTA Nevada PTA’s mission is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.

As part of the largest volunteer child advocacy association in the nation, Nevada Parent Teacher Association (Nevada PTA) reminds our state of its obligations to children and provides parents and families with a powerful voice to speak on behalf of every child while providing the best tools for parents to help their children be successful students. Congratulations to Sandy Miller Academy PTA on being named a National PTA School of Excellence!

National PTA honored Sandy Searles Miller Academy PTA as one of 321 National PTA Schools of Excellence for building partnership between families and their school that enrich the educational experience and overall well-being of students.

Over 40 years of research shows increased family engagement is linked to school improvement and student achievement. The National PTA School of Excellence recognition program helps PTAs open lines of communication and use critical thinking to make data-driven decisions to increase and sustain impactful family engagement.

Sharing this great opportunity for youth from Nevada Department of Education -

Applications for the Nevada Superintendent’s Advisory Group on Education (NV SAGE) are open July 15 – Aug. 15, 2026.

This online group gives 10th and 11th grade students a direct voice to advise the Superintendent on state education policies for a 1-year term. Members can earn up to 15 community service hours. No perfect GPA or resume required - just a desire to speak up for students.

We learned more about advocacy, leadership, family engagement, and growing strong PTAs—and can’t wait to bring it all back to Nevada.

One highlight was meeting the National Teacher of the Year and connecting with amazing PTA leaders from across the country.

Late registration is still open for the 2026 Convention is happening April 24-26 in Las Vegas! Convention is open to all PTA members and will be held at the Tuscany Hotel & Casino. Convention is a time to learn, connect, and celebrate.

This year's convention will feature:
* Awards Dinner celebrating Reflections, 2026 Local and Unit Awards and Battle Born Scholarships
* Workshops & Presentations on topics including School Funding, Bullying, AI, Digital Safety and more!
*Required Annual Training for PTA local officers
