We achieve this goal by administering the following programs:
Workforce Development:
Helps individuals get training and jobs that allow them to be economically self-sufficient, use their talents and skills, and advance in their careers. We offer a series of workshops to help individuals become viable employees. Best of all, there is no fee to employers, trainers, or employee candidates. Positive Youth Impact:
Provides specialized programming designed to increase basic literacy and numeracy skills, help students graduate from high school or attain a state-recognized certificate, and continue on to post-secondary education and/or attain employment. This program helps youth reconnect to education and work and develop a career path that will lead to lifelong success. Housing Partnerships:
This division provides financial assistance, bi-lingual homebuyer education classes, and one-on-one counseling services to qualified homebuyers in an effort to promote home ownership and educate new home owners so that they can stay in their homes. Many of the classes are offered in both English and in Spanish. Build Nevada Construction Pre-Apprenticeship Program:
Provides pre-vocational and soft skills training, education, supportive services, and employment placement to underemployed and unemployed adults and high-risk youth in the building and construction industry. Volunteer Income Tax Assistance:
Provides free tax return preparation and e-filing, delivered by IRS-certified volunteers, to qualified individuals during the tax season. The program is aimed at increasing the number eligible Clark County residents who claim and receive the federal Earned Income Tax Credit.
