We have a welcome family for Laura, Spain, but would LOVE to find her a permanent host family for the 22/23 school year. before she arrives the end of this month. Her app stuck out to me because she seems super grateful about this once in a lifetime opportunity and can't wait to share her year with YOU, her host family.

Can you help? Either host her or if you know someone who would be interested. A referral fee is yours if you send a family my way. šŸ˜ƒHost families come in all sizes and shapes, so don't think yours won't make a great family!! Students provide their own spending money, medical and dental insurance. Host families provide a bed, 3 in home meals, support and the desire to share our culture with them.

Laura from Spain sure sounds like she gets it! She will be 16 when she arrives and in the 11th grade this fall. She has one much younger brother.

About herself, she says, "I am a calm, kind and empathic person. I enjoy reading everyday and I like to do some sports. I also like to hang out with friends but I also enjoy staying at home with family or watching some series or playing.ā€ Laura used to play hockey and would love to play again. She does in-line skating. Laura also enjoys reading and playing with her little brother. She has very positive teacher recommendations and strong English."

Meet Florenz, he is waiting to hear her has a host family waiting me for himl. Please read his letter and let me know if he would be a great fit for YOUR family!

Dear host family,
My name is Florenz and first of all, I want to thank you for reading my letter and allowing me to spend a year in the USA with you and to be part of your family.

I've been playing tennis since I was 6 years old. I have participated in various tournaments and played in many groups. I enjoy mountain biking and have crossed the Alps at the age of 8. Since last year my father and I have also had e-bikes. When I go on vacation in the alps I have also liked to enjoy alpine skiing since the age of 3. My grandparents are good golfers, and sometimes my mother and I go to the golf course with them.

My school is a large school campus with a high school, where I am, and a comprehensive school. Both schools together have over 1,600 students. We recently got a large new building at our school, with classrooms, specialist rooms for chemistry, physics and biology and 3 sports halls. My father usually takes me there, but when the weather is good, I like to ride my motorcycle. What I particularly like about the school is the community with the other students. My favorite subjects are sports, chemistry, and math. Most of my friends live in the region of Hanover, where my school is. That's why I often meet up with them online after school or arrange to meet at the weekend. I spend most of the weekends with my father. We like to ride bicycles, eat out in restaurants or go on a weekend trip. We often go out to dinner with my grandparents. On the weekends that I spend with my mother, we like to do something with my grandparents or go on trips together too.

My father and I go on vacation together for most of the holidays. We usually go skiing together once a year. We have visited many places like New York, London, and Dubai. When I am on vacation in a warm area I like to go swimming. I used to be a member of the swimming club and also have the German golden swimming badge.

In my free time, I like to meet up with my friends or go cycling or riding my motorcycle. At the weekend, I also like to invite friends over to stay overnight. I also like to play video games with my school friends or people I have known from playing online for a long time.

I am interested in the economy and like to improve my pocket money with, for example, crypto or shoe retail.

Friends and family are particularly important to me in life. I try to spend as much time with them as possible.

Thank you for taking the time to read my letter and getting to know my life in Germany a little better. I look forward to spending time with you and becoming part of your family.

Meet Lloret. She is 16 years old and from Spain. She is anxious to hear the exciting news she has a host family!! Please read her letter.
Dear future host family,
I suppose you donā€™t have any information about me, so this is my opportunity to introduce myself to you.
I consider myself a very responsible and perfectionist girl. I really like to have things tidy and do things well. I also think that I'm very tolerant, respectful and open-minded person, so Iā€™m going to accept you as you are.
Iā€™m very very curious, so during my stay there Iā€™ll love to know and learn many things about your culture.
In fact one of the main reasons I want to go to the US is to get knowledge about your culture, to know everything about your customs and be able to take part of this culture first hand. I am looking forward to celebrate Thanksgiving, Halloween and all the American festivities with you. I would also like to watch an American football game, take part of the cheerleader team or go to the high schoolā€™s Prom. In addition, of course, I really want to improve my English level and, if I can, speak fluent perfect English.
I would like to make many friends and celebrate Christmas and other holidays with my future host family.
I want to insist on thanking you for everything you are doing for me by opening up your house to me. Thanks for giving me a place in your family. Iā€™ll try to do everything possible to make my stay in your home a good experience for you and me. My intention is to participate and collaborate in all the house tasks that you need. I would like to share cultural Spanish topics and interesting things about my culture with you.
Talking about studies, I can say that Iā€™m really a good student and I put a lot of effort on my classes. On my day to day I take the bus to go to school. Classes starts at 9:15 am. My favorite subjects is Arts, because I love painting and drawing. I also like social Sciences because I love debating about political themes or history. I find Biology very interesting because I like to know things about how the human body works. I donā€™t have exact plans for my future, but I probably want to study a career related to the social studies path.
After school my main hobbie is dancing. I dance Hip Hop, Contemporary dance and some other dance styles. I compete in national competitions. I go to dance every day but Sunday.
In addition I also love drawing and taking photos. When I have free time with my family, we often have dinner in a restaurant, cook something good at home or watch movies together.
I hope that this description helps you to imagine me the way I am.

Are you interested in German culture? We have an amazing girl that would love to be on the West coast during her exchange year!! Emily will be 16 when she arrives. She loves to read and write her own stories, but prefers to do it in English as she feels like she gets her point across clearer. She also has started playing the piano. She has 2 younger sisters and pets (dog, cats, and rabbits) She enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Here is a part of her letter:
"When I am in the USA, I hope to meet new people and find new friends. I am interested in gaining experience and of course in improving my English. Additionally, I think this year is a great opportunity to get more self-confident and to make memories I will never forget. Not everybody has a chance to do something like this and that is one of the reasons why I am very grateful that I can experience it.
I am so excited to meet you and to talk to you in person. I cant wait! Thank you again."

Introducing:
Hello. My name is Sara Nishimura. I would like to thank you for being my host family. I am 15 (16 on arrival) I like sports and outdoor activities, like swimming, snowboarding, rock climbing and even bungee jumping , which I've tried once. I'm a curious and active person. I'm always excited to try new things. In addition, I have a strong will, and I make an effort to achieve goals that I set.
I started taking piano lessons and dance lessons when I was 4. I love music, singing, and playing musical instruments like the guitar. On my way to school, I always listen to music. I especially love western pop songs. Above all, I love dancing more than anything. I have a lot of experience performing dance on the stage, and competed as a team to win the second place in Japan. I'm good at dancing to hip-hop, rock and pop music. I often tried dance battles, which are improvised dance competitions to music. Now I belong to the cheerleading club at school. I'm interested in cheerleading in the States as well.
I'm interested in American history and culture so much. That is also one of the reasons why I decided to study in the US. Therefore, when I come back to Japan, I would like to help my friends and teachers to know about American culture. In addition, I would like to introduce Japanese culture to you. We are currently looking for Host Families to open their hearts and homes to an exhcnge student for the upcoming 22/23 school year! We have so many amazing kids available. We will help you pick out your new addition to your family! Students don't arrive until August, so you have plenty of time to build a relationship with them before they arrive.

Not sure about 10 months, why not think about hosting a student for 5 months!!

Kiddos like Benedetta, Italy, who love animals, loves exercise, is kind and curious. She loves to play the Ukele, sing, and read. She enjoys watching Stanger Things, The Good Doctor, Friends, and How I Met Your Mother. She says she wants to have a great experience, but wants YOU to have one as well.

Riccardo, Italy, says his sister did an exchange in CA and was so impressed with her experience, he decided to have one of his own. He is open minded and learns quickly. He is very involved with Track and Field. The Long jump and high jump being his favorites. He listens to American music and his favorite artist is Eminem.

Marcela, Brazil, wants to be a psychiatrist as she loves the study of the human mind. She enjoys adventures and exploring. She loves animals, cooking and building legos or really anything that comes with an intruction manual.

Gabriele, Brazil, Loves art and painting is her passion. She also enjoys reading. She started some martial arts classes with friends and has continued with her Muah Thai training. She loves animals and says if she could have a million, she would!

These are just a few of the amazing kiddos waiting to hear they have an American family.
