Hey Knoxville People!

So I"m looking for a place I can take my paranormal team to for training and non-team members who want to experience a paranormal investigation. Any ideas here in Knoxville/surrounding area?

Basic criteria:

I need to be able to get permission from the owner to be there.

Place should be available overnight and/or on weekends. (I'm not planning on being there all night, but the more time the better) and not every weekend, there will be plenty of advance notice. Maybe once every 3 months or so.

Rumors of paranormal activity is great but not necessary.

Local theaters have already said that they require payment for staffing and electricity (not an option for the team).

Old Gray Cemetery closes the gates at 7pm and doesn't allow people after hours.

[From our website: a quick explanation of how we operate on a site]
Back To Basics
It sure has been a while since I've written a blog about anything, but with the upcoming 4th anniversary of the team I wanted to get back into the online scene. Our team was founded on the principles of simple scientific investigations, but what does that mean? Our methods are centered so that any person could go to any of our team locations (2 at the moment) and operate effectively and consistently to provide a clear representation of what happened at a site during an investigation, and for peer review clarity.

This method can seem tedious to set up, but once in place it can make for a very effective method of recounting where something happened and when. One of the first things my team does at a site is create a sketch/layout of the area we're going to be working. We identify walls (by number), corners (by letter), and any major items in the room/space. So how do we know which wall is which? The first wall you see when you enter the room is 1. We then count up as we go clock-wise (right) around the room, most rooms have 4 walls however some have 22 due to stairwells and closets etc. Now that we have identified the walls, we now identify the corners by letter also increasing and rotating clock-wise. The corner of wall 1 and wall 2 is corner "A", the the corner of wall 2 and 3 is corner "B", and so on.

Why do this, what do we achieve by setting this up? We now have an accurate and simple system so for example, if we hear footsteps, we can say "they sounded like they started at "C" and went to "B" and I who wasn't on that investigation can know that those footsteps traveled along wall 3. I will then look at the sketch of what was in the room and see that there is a door near corner "B". So in this instance our disembodied footsteps came from somewhere and went toward the door in that room. This level of consistency is what we need for peer-review, we can identify where people and equipment are in the room so in the event of an anomalous sound or image we, and anyone else looking at our case, can know exactly what was going on in the room.

Greetings Fans! It's been quite a busy time for us in the GVPRS! Our Youtube channel is up and running (GVPRS2011), videos to come by this weekend! We have our Blog Talk Radio account set up (Gold Vault Paranormal), and we're working toward having a live video conferencing system for further exposure!
