We are back with our second Native film showing in partnership with Vision Maker Media to bring another powerful evening of Indigenous storytelling.

Join us for a special screening of the vital documentary, “Bring Her Home.” Directed by Leya Hale (Sisseton Wahpeton Dakota and Diné Nations) — a multiple regional Emmy award-winning filmmaker and Sundance Institute Fellow — this critically acclaimed documentary was selected to represent the U.S. at INPUT 2022 in Barcelona and won the Dog Iron Award at the Will Rogers Motion Picture Festival.

About the Film:
Bring Her Home follows three Indigenous women — an artist, an activist, and a politician — as they work to vindicate and honor their relatives who are victims in the growing epidemic of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW). As they face the lasting effects of historical trauma, each woman searches for healing while navigating the oppressive systems that brought about this very crisis.

🗓 When: Wednesday, June 24th
⏰ Time: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
📍 Where: Healing Ribbons (Upper Level) | 5017 Leavenworth St.

Thank you to everyone who made our first screening such a meaningful experience. Let’s gather again to hold space, raise awareness, and honor these vital stories.

We hope to see you there. 🌾✨

Father’s Day Craft & Community Reflection

Today, we honor the fathers, grandfathers, uncles, mentors, and caretakers who help guide the next generation.

In many Indigenous communities, fatherhood is more than a title. It is the responsibility of teaching, protecting, encouraging, and helping young people grow into who they are meant to be.

To celebrate, we’ve created a special coloring page for our young relatives.

Instructions:
• Color the page.
• Add painted handprints on each side of the bee to create its wings.
• Write the name of the person you are honoring on the line provided.
• Share your finished creation with someone who has helped you grow.

As you work together, take a moment to talk about the people who teach you, support you, share stories with you, and help you find your way.

Happy Father’s Day from The Hive: The Indigenous Collective.

Happy Father's Day from NACS and ROOTS: Language of the Seasons.

As the seasons change, our languages help us understand and honor the responsibilities, ceremonies, plants, animals, and activities that mark this time of year. Learning and using our languages helps ensure that these teachings continue for future generations.

Follow along as we share Haudenosaunee words and teachings a few times each month, highlighting seasonal knowledge, cultural practices, and the connections between our languages and the world around us.

Join us in celebrating and supporting the ongoing revitalization of our languages.
