New research offers encouraging news for families of children with hearing loss!

A multicenter study published in The Laryngoscope found positive outcomes for children who received cochlear implants as young as 7 months old, as well as children who retained some natural hearing. The findings support reconsidering eligibility criteria to help more children access this technology.

“Hearing aids are cool!”

Six-year-old Lainey and 4-year-old Millie Mieden know that firsthand. Both girls have hearing loss and have worn hearing aids since they were babies. For the fourth year, they turned their experience into action with their annual LemonAID stand in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin.

Two little sisters in Oconomowoc just raised over $11,000 for kids with hearing loss — and donations are still coming in.

Hearing loss can affect anyone, even those in the spotlight!

BTS member V recently opened up about experiencing significant hearing loss in one ear for more than two years. During a livestream with fellow member Jung Kook, V shared that the hearing in one ear is considerably weaker than the other and that he is currently receiving medical treatment.

Thinking about bringing your baby or young child to a concert or sporting event? The American Academy of Audiology has an important reminder: loud environments can pose a real risk to developing ears.
