KANSAS CITY, MO – December 20, 2025 – The American Jazz Museum was transformed into a bustling hub of holiday hope this past Saturday as the 13th Annual Gift of Love Toy Giveaway served approximately 1,000 community members. The event, successfully organized by a coalition including HOPe Africa International, KCOG (Keeping Communities On Guard), OLD SCHOOL All School, and the National Historic Soul Jazz Blues Walker Foundation Inc., surpassed all previous years by distributing not just toys, but a vast array of essential household goods, marking its 11th year as a cornerstone of Kansas City holiday support.

Fueled by sponsors like HOPe Africa, Toys for Tots, Price Chopper, and Happy Foods, this year’s effort was distinguished by its incredible diversity and volume of donations. For the first time, organizers confirmed that they “not only received the most toys but also had enough for families and friends” to receive a wide spectrum of items.

Staff at the U-Haul Company on 291 Highway received a special delivery of cat food and pet chairs as part of HOPe Africa’s ongoing efforts to extend our outreach to every nook and cranny in greater Kansas City. These donations are crucial in increasing our impact and ensuring that every member of our community, including our furry friends, feels supported and cared for.

The excitement was palpable as the U-Haul staff, alongside their cats, eagerly inspected the items. Witnessing the cats sniffing the food and exploring the chairs was a heartwarming moment, showcasing the immediate joy and relief these donations brought. It’s moments like these that highlight the importance of our mission to spread love and support throughout the community.

Our commitment to reaching every corner of Kansas City is unwavering, and we are proud to see the positive impact our efforts have on both people and pets. We will continue to seek out new ways to support and uplift our community, ensuring that no one is left behind.

HOPe Africa is creating friendly societies beyond Jackson County, extending our reach through the Community Assistance Center once again. As part of our mission to spread love and support within the community, we have distributed a variety of essential items using a 10-foot U-Haul truck. The items included:

- 61 boxes of Almond Breeze
- 25 boxes of Froot Loops
- 37 cases of water
- 15 packs of h**p plus loose
- 8 bags of cat food
- 8 pet chairs

Both our staff and the recipients were deeply moved by the generosity, especially appreciating the cereal for their kids, the water for their families, and the pet food for their beloved animals. The sense of community was palpable as everyone worked together to bring these goodies to our doorstep.

Many recipients inquired about volunteer opportunities, showcasing the community’s eagerness to give back and support our initiatives. HOPe Africa is immensely proud of everyone involved and is actively seeking more funding and sponsorship opportunities to continue and expand our efforts.

We invite everyone to join us, either by requesting donations or participating in any of our events. Our doors are open from 9 AM to 3 PM, and we welcome all to be part of our journey in spreading love and support within our community.

In their latest initiative, they have donated beautiful paintings and engaging children’s games, including skating equipment, helmets, and rollers. Families and children are overjoyed by these generous gifts, which have brought a lot of excitement and joy to the community. The response has been overwhelmingly positive, with an increasing number of requests for merchandise reflecting the growing appreciation and demand for HOPe Africa’s thoughtful contributions. These donations not only provide fun and entertainment but also foster creativity and physical activity among children, furthering HOPe Africa’s mission to support and uplift communities.

The Leavenworth auto repair shop recently received a generous donation consisting of pop, juice, confectionery, and desk calendars. The workers and management are thrilled by the kindness shown by HOPe Africa, especially during these challenging times. Their gratitude is palpable, and they are eagerly looking forward to giving back by volunteering at our upcoming community outreach events. This act of generosity has not only provided much-needed support but has also strengthened the bond between HOPe Africa and the local community, inspiring a spirit of cooperation and mutual aid.

**Desirable Meeting Needs and Commitments at Community Event**

HOPe Africa USA was honored to attend a recent community event that brought together a diverse and engaged audience. During the event, HOPe Africa addressed the well-attended crowd, expressing our commitment to supporting the community. We were delighted to donate cat food and provide leg massages to the elderly and community leaders, demonstrating our dedication to meeting immediate needs.

The event was graced by the presence of the Founder and Chris Jackson, Staff of Kuaw.org. They provided invaluable support and assured us that HOPe Africa’s programs will be aired on their platform, furthering our outreach and impact.

Additionally, we were pleased to receive donations of TIV clothes from Benue State, generously provided by Ms. GG Owens of Black Hat and Janay Reliford, MSW, Founder/CEO, and organizer of the event. These contributions were greatly appreciated and will be put to good use in our efforts to assist those in need.

The atmosphere was filled with excitement and gratitude. HOPe Africa was given the opportunity to attend future events for free, allowing us to continue our mission of community support and development. We deeply appreciate the level of community assistance and are inspired by the collective effort to make a positive difference.
